Previously I mentioned looking at getting the 1125CR, which happens to be my dream bike.

Picked it up Saturday evening. It was fantastic! What a machine!

Sunday night, riding back from showing some mates the bike, a couple of kids in a car decided to hop lanes with no indicator to turn down a side road. I managed to swerve and avoid being t-boned, but still knocked the side and ended in a low slide.
I had to use every bit of willpower to prevent myself from plugging each of those idiots in the face. There are no words to describe how off I was. The one even had the cheek to tell me he'd never seen one like this before. "THAT'S CAUSE THERE ONLY 10 IN THIS COUNTRY F*CKFACE!"

Inspected the damage properly last night. Seems I got away fairly lightly.

-Pod is ground down
-Bracket it is attached to snapped.
-Ignition casing is butchered.
-Bar end came off and scratched
-Clutch lever is bend the opposite direction.
-Mirror came off and snapped on the bracket
-Gear shifter bent and touching frame. The plastic bit around there also cracked and loose.

I'm thankful for the rear spool/axle slider, saved the swing arm and a lot of the bodywork.

As for me, my finger was dislocated and had to be popped back in. Bike landed on my leg but I walked away from it thankfully. (Always wear your gear)

Bit too heartbroken to take pictures just yet. But I'll probably be asking for some advice and such when putting it all back together.

I'm a perfectionist, so it's going to be a long haul to get it back to exactly how it should be.

Bummer! Not too bad damage wise at least, and at least those parts aren't hard to find.

Can get those parts from Surdyke or American Sportbike.

It's a pain about the bike. But the most important part was kept safe. Can't replace your skin.

Chris.

Sorry about the bike, it can be fixed, but any crash you walk away from is a good result.

Sorry to hear about that buddy. I would advise doing your research and make a list of parts and shop around.

I recently had a head on/right side collision and insurance quoted $3200. I shopped around and ordered all the parts from shop.newcastlehd.com , their prices were the lowest (atleast 20% lower than others)and I received everything within two weeks. They were able to get every single part straight from HD. Final costs for full repair was $1300-1500.

Newcastle has done a great job for me and another 1125R rider on more than one occasion

Hi Guys,

Long overdue reply. Been a bit crazy balancing work and trying to sort this all out. Thank you for all the replies though.

Unfortunately newcastlehd no longer do international shipping : ( Surdyke and American sportbike seem the best option

I'm okay. My left small finger has a chipped bone and is a bit crooked, but I didn't feel the need to fork out money to have it straightened. It still works, doesn't need to be pretty.

The bike however, does.

I was lucky enough to find a second hand ignition casing locally. The bracket was welded and the pod looks straight. The mirrors are mounted temporarily with glue and brackets, until such time as I decide on replacing the original or going aftermarket.

When I purchased the bike it had been standing for almost a year, so I there are a few issues that I need some help with.

Work done
1. Fuel pump was replaced. First time round fueling was completely out and bike shuddered a lot. 2nd time round it feels better. Slight surging when at constant rpm
2. New Battery
3. All fluids replaced with new

The problem I'm having now is the bike still shudders a bit when at constant rpm.
If the throttle is completely closed, and you open it very quickly, it's almost as if the bike has a flat spot.

Could this be the fuel pump again?

Another issue is the clocks. Quite often when accelerating away from robots the speedo reads 0km/h.

I am starting to think it may be the ECM causing all this havoc.

Will upload some pictures of it tonight.

Sorry for the long post. Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Darren

I would look at the throttle cables for binding and disconnect the "noid" if that hasnt been done yet...also try a TPS reset and make sure that it is reading the throttle position right.

You can find how to do all of these thing ons here, if you dont know how too

Regarding the 0kph issue with the cluster, that is caused by the speed sensor getting dirty.

Mine does it, more so when it's hot outside. Been doing it since new. No big deal.

Glad to hear you're ok and the bike is on the mend. I can assure you that American Sport Bike is a very good company to buy your Buell parts from.

Best wishes Darren

Thank you all for the replies.

I did do a TPS after the new fuel pump was fit. I'll look into cables and disconnecting the noid.

It's still the stock ECM. Planning on getting the Barker exhaust + EBR ECU with Barker tune. Just need to figure out how to get it into the country without paying double

Thank you all for the help

Forgot to mention, the bike pushes a lot of heat onto my legs. It's only spring here and already my legs feel like they're cooking.

Temp at is usually around 25-30 Degrees C and CAT is 90C at most. Fans are always running.

Do they normally get this hot or is something else going a bit pear here?

I'll definitely be ordering the Barker exhaust + ECM with barker tune. Busy checking how much customs will hit me for it.

I noticed now during my lunch break it sounds like the bike is sucking air, which may be the cause of it running lean?

Sorry to hear about your crash mate. Atleast you are all right.

I broke my mirrors on my CR and replaced them with these:

http://www.moto-science.com/product/ducati-style-b uell-1125-firebolt-led-mirrors-pair-1

Really easy to install, looks better, and they don't vibrate. You can actually see out of them.

I hope you getter back on the road soon

Cheers
