Can the frame\tank be powder coated?

I believe the frame is powdercoated from the factory, so I don't think that's a problem. Can anyone confirm?

I know that. What I dont know is if it has a coating inside that would prevent it from being done again

Had mine done, no coating on the inside.

They are powder coated from the factory.

The tank is aluminum... What are you trying to achieve by coating it on the inside? Perhaps a thermal barrier?

On past bikes with steel tanks, I can say that the POR 15 tank liner does an amazing job. Especially on bikes with pesky low spots (below the fuel pickup) that tend to rust and gum up carbs with orange slime.

I am just trying to change the color when I do the valve service this winter. I 'm going to pull the frame to make it easier so I might as well get it done at that time. I was thinking of doing it the same color as my wheels. I had them powder coated hero blue when I replaced my plastics. Here is a picture of my bike as it sits now

Still have some work to do to it. Got to get rid of the last red pieces. Doing a little at a time.

If you have this done make sure they mask everything off that DOES NOT get powder coated, this will save you a lot of headaches.

When you remove the tank take many pictures, trust me..they help.

TIP: if you want to save the stickers at the steering head you can carefully remove them and place on a piece of freshly cleaned glass, this worked great for me.
