My fuell (yes 2 "L"s) pump will sometimes decide that it needs to kick on every few seconds after riding and turning the kill switch off and key off. As in when everything is off and key out the fuel pump cycles just like when the ignition is initially switched on. If I turn the key back on the fans turn off and the fuel pump doesn't cycle bc it has enough pressure I'm guessing. Then once I turn the key back off it usually will stop cycling the pump. I have tried turning the bars lock to lock while the key was off and the pump was cycling, no change. I tried spraying a penetration lubricant and water displacer (that's now a word) it seemed to work for a little while but it could've just been coincidence. Any ideas? |

It's normal. Maintaining pressure in the fuel rail to prevent vapor lock. |

imagine seeing you here, o really so I shouldnt be concerned about it killing my battery? Did it used to do that with the stock ecm? I don't remember ever hearing until recently. also in diagnostic mode how quickly should the fuel pressure drop? without the engine on. |

With the latest stock ECM flash you should have nothing to worry about. It won't drain the battery on you. It does it both with the stock ECM and the EBR ECM. |

It's normal to cycle a couple of times after shut-down, but if it is doing it a lot or every couple of seconds, the check valve may be going south on you. Check fuel pressure at key-on using diagnostic mode and see what the numbers are. |

key on in diagnostic mode by the time i get to the fuel it is at 440kpa and dropping steadily i didn't wait to see if it would stop dropping... suppose i should have. Idle starts at 500kpa then drops and holds steady from 400-420kpa |

Don't sweat it (unless it's the check valve), mine does it a lot, but only when it's really hot....I mean it will cycle intermittently for 3-5 minutes if it's over 95F out & the fuell's boiling in the frank.... Freaked me out too, here I've been thinking it was pumping oil through the heads to prevent heat sink or something! I've been meaning to ask y'all what the sound was, but it doesn't happen enough for me to remember to ask...oil through the heads.....Stuuuupid! |

All the ECM firmware except the release version(30 min.) keeps a maintenance pressure on the fuel rail for 10 minutes after "key-off". The state of your fuel rail connections or pump will show here if you keep track of the "run" intervals. |
