So I think it looks as if I need to get my head off to the side of my front fairing a bit more on the hard right handers, but riding like this, takes no effort. I have noticed that my knee pointed out pushes me in the corner so I started sucking it into the bike. Would benefit from raised pegs? Any info These few questions I ask, are about making me faster! |

Pure vanity, but I just got my pictures back from the Circuit of the Americas event... I spent a lot of the day Duc hunting...
This gives you a sense of the HUGE elevation changes at this track, and in particular, Turn 1.
If you get the opportunity to ride at a place like CotA (well, no place is like that), but a Barber, or a Laguna, etc.... TAKE IT. |

Jdugger, The guy on that Panigale looks like he's about to drag a feeler, but he's sitting just about upright in the saddle. 1125rcya, I enjoy Putnam--I've ridden there a half dozen times or so. |

He needs to weight his inside peg and he would naturally transition into a knee-out, shoulders forward body position. And, need less lean angle for that given cornerspeed, too! Usually guys hang their butt off too much, and the shoulders not enough. In this case, it's just weighting the inside peg and turning the hips correctly to lock that outside knee in and give him the " body grip" he needs on the bike. |

Hey, We need to get together for a trackday. Looks like we have similar bikes. I'm planning to run Putnam this year. I run Mid-Ohio a lot. Let me know what your schedule is.

Ducs are delicious, especially all slathered in pushunder sauce! Jdugger is that your B bike? That muffler looks like something that fell off a bulldozer, all leaned over and showoffey like that! You could put bellypan graphics on it... |

> Jdugger is that your B bike? Yea, the last event before I put a Keda RT-3 on the bike. The Keda is a lot smaller and lighter. I run Michelin 190-slicks now, and would you believe the tire is TOO TALL to use the stock exhaust with a belly pan? So, I had to go to a race pipe in order to run a race tire and have a belly pan. The Keda seems like good value - it really woke up the bike's performance. It's definitely going to get the shit beat out of it, and I think that's exactly what Dean wanted. |

1125rcya, how do you like putnam? I'm from near Indianapolis and I'm really eager to get out there. I've never had a bike worth tracking before, so I've never tracked, what would be a good event to get out to for a first timer at Putnam? |

More pure self-indulgent vanity... NOLA had two corners that involved very deep trail braking. I'm off the brakes by the time this photo was taken, but look at the forks!

Solson1041 Putnam is a great track! Fast, shifty, and a bit technical. I have more fun 1 day at Putnam than a whole year of riding on the streets. If you hit over a 100mphs on a regular basis and like curvy roads I'd say you would be OK in novice class. I started of with just a test the track day which doesnt require a whole lot of track prep. Track prep doest tack much with our bikes tho..10-15 mins. Here's a club id recommend http://midwestcaferacing.com/test-the-track/ By the way if you would like help prepping your bike for a track day PM me I'll give ya a hand. } |

That's a cool shot. I think the brake line provides as good a visual regarding the fork compression as the forks themselves. |

Are those stock forks? They're not supposed to compress that far when cornering, are they? Or are you somehow on the brakes? |

> Are those stock forks? Stock fork bodies with AK-Gas internals. > They're not supposed to compress that far when cornering, are they? It's not unusual, especially if you are trail braking into the corner. That was definitely the case here, even though by the time the picture was snapped I'm off the brake. I have some shots from the same corner with the brake still engaged. > Or are you somehow on the brakes? No, but the corner "tightens up" -- it's probably cornering forces holding the suspension down. |

Look for a RideSmart event on June 29-30 at Cresson. http://www.hart-photography.com/photocart/ I am teaching in Level 2 on Saturday and Level 3 on Sunday. > Great shot Jim! Looks like I need to come take some lessons from you. Thanks, and I really, really doubt it!!! I would love to race, though. Too bad we can't find some neutral ground that Jeff, you and I can't meet up for a little EBR challenge! |

Don't worry about it, as concentrating on head position instead of bike position will only slow you down! The faaster you get the better your position will become, and there is no set style that you need to use. Some of the fastest road riders I have ever followed have been Police instructors, and they NEVER hang off the bike or stick theri knee down On track, riders like John McGuinness still ride in a classic style extremely fast, and if you compare Marc Marquez to Jorge Lorenzo you'll see that their styles are completely different (as is almost every other top rider). Yes you do have to tick certain boxes in terms of getting weight positioned right etc, but don't sweat the minor things |

Thanks, and I really, really doubt it!!! I would love to race, though. Too bad we can't find some neutral ground that Jeff, you and I can't meet up for a little EBR challenge! Broken cam followers, or lack of, means the 1125 will not be racing USBA Round 5 this weekend, which sucks as I was on track to podium in SuperTwins. One more USBA race weekend in October, WERA in Vegas in November, and that will likely do it for me this year. I may run into Rob in November, but we'll see..
