Hey Guys! My EBR clutch cylinder came in last night, and I spent some time comparing it to the stock unit. Aside from the fact that the new pieces are made out of different materials, you can see some of the more subtle differences in the photos I posted to Imgur. http://imgur.com/a/3YZfF For the record, here is the EBR part that I'm talking about: http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/models/1125r/ ebr-clutch-actuator-cylinder-kit.html |

The main difference is the SS vs AL cylinder. The AL cyl would wear and burr over time, causing nicks in the seals. Not hard anodizing the cylinder didn't help. The Oberon has a different design for the bore and piston, and even though it's all AL vs. SS, it seems to be holding up well in my race application. I have one bike with the EBR, one with the Oberon. Good success with both parts. |

I'm curious, how many miles did your stock clutch cylinder have on it? Great comparison photos! |

My stock one went at around 6K and then a second "updated" Buell one went at around 10k. Replaced with the then just released EBR unit and am still good at 17k. |

I bought it with 2375 miles on it and a bad clutch. I'm unsure whether the PO drove it for a while with the weep or not. |

Stupid question here: How do I know I have the weep? (I'm imagining a slew of responses such as "it itches", "it burns when you pee", and "go to the clinic") But jokes aside, 6400 miles in and I'm wondering if something is going on that I don't know about. Is it really a $100 fix? I might just take care of it now to avoid an issue later. |

do you have brake fluid dripping from the hole in the right side black puck? No -> Then no weep Yes -> Weep either way if it hasnt had the new actuator I'd put it in. |

I found good step by step instructions both in the manual and on this forum. The thing that I didn't understand at first was that the side cover bolts actually clamp 2 layers with a vacuum diaphragm in the middle to the rest of the engine. For anyone doing this job in the future, the outermost cover is the only cover that needs to be removed to perform this service. |
