So i was riding today and stopped to get gas when i started the bike back up i noticed and odd clanking, or pinging. Here is a video you can defiantly hear it. My guess: The nut on the crankshaft that holds the rotor cup on is loose. |

Does the noise speed up when you give it gas? My 08 did the same thing one time, and never done it since. Scared the shit out of me though. |

i pulled the stator cover off to have a look, nothing looks loose. My stator looks burnt pretty good lol, as if that's a surprise. so while i have it off i might as well upgrade it, but im still not sure whats making the noise. |

well i was just gonna take the rotor off and noticed a washer sitting on the inside of the rotor, granted i have no idea where it came from? This could of been it maybe? [/U |

I forget. Did you have any work done on the stator before? IE: took it in to the dealer. |

I'd have to look at a manual, but that looks like the washer that sits above and left of the rotor. It doesn't slide on and off the shaft, you have to tilt it a bit to get past the rotor. That definitely would make a small racket... Z |

Thank you! I'll take a look in the manual when it gets here. I ordered most of the stuff I need today anyway, so hopefully that washer was the culprit |
