My fuel pump is starting fail even more so now. The bike is starting to show signs of running even leaner on the stock ECM and the fuel pressure is falling faster than before. The pump needs to be replaced ASAP. My idea: Clamp front wheel. Take off belt. Remove exhaust. Disconnect rear shock mount. Use a hoist to raise ass end uber high into air to allow swingarm to give clearance to pump. Possible? Done before? Yay or nay? |

Alright then. Thank you for the offer, it is greatly appreciated, but I would I would have to decline for your convenience because I live just south of the great white north. |

Yep - gotta pull swingarm. Get the biggest damn snap ring pliers you can find - that sucker is stout. |

In the absence of having a lift, I used a couple of ratchet straps hanging from the rafters in my shed to hoist the tail end up to drop the swingarm. I just removed the plastic cover on the tail section and used the subframe as a hoist point. Good luck with the giant snapring that holds the fuel pump in. That thing is a pain unless you have the right tools (and i didn't - I ended up using a pair of needle nose pliers and a pair of vice grips). |

Thanks for the heads up on that snap ring. I've got some friends that do HD work (heavy duty, not Hardley) and I'll see how big of a snap ring pliers they have. Not looking forward to this, but it comes with expectation. |
