Had the bike out for a little night ride tonight when I noticed that the rpm needle has started "jumping" up and down by about 200 rpm around the 3500 rpms. Only happens at 3500 rpm. Below 3500 and above 3500 ( give or take 100 or so ) the needle is rock steady. At a stop light, with the clutch pulled in, I revved the engine to 3500 rpm and the needle again starting jumping up and down. Any ideas guys? | ||

On a steady ride mine jumps a little around the 4500 mark. That's the only time I notice it and quite frankly I don't mind. Just whatev. Did you search for previous threads with the problem? | ||

Search shows it's common. Caused by vibration to the IC not being dampened. Dampen the vibes if you want it to go away. | ||

I read threw some of the posts but I'm not sure if it's vibration related as it does it too when the bike is not moving. At that point, the only minor vibration happening is caused by the engine. | ||

Ok so it is vibration related. If I hold on to the IC it goes away. Friggin' bike! | ||
