Hello, Everyone who has measured 2008 or 2009 stator (old model) voltage (AC), could you post to this thread. I read before that the old stator output is little bit lower than the new one. The new model should give these voltages: 37-53 VAC at 2000 rpm. How about the old one? Mine output was 20 VAC @ 2000 rpm |

That seems about right. I have a very early 08, delivered 17DEC07, never any electrical issues, other than bad solder joints on the keyswitch that I fixed. I had several parts replaced while in warranty - 2 fuel pumps, one exhaust cam and followers, one IC, one outer fork leg, never stuck on the side of the road. Loretta has a little over 28k miles and still running the original rotor/stator/VR and battery Heated grips since mile 21, XBLights clear lens run/stop/turn LED rear light since mile 1200 or so, HID low-beams since mile 6600 or so. Hi Zack! Nice to hear that you donīt have problems. I have :S I have charging problem. I cheked the stator and it seemed to be okay! No marks about burn or anything. After that I bought new voltage regulator (CE 605SB) but there is still the problem. I can ride a while when I charge my battery full by a external battery charger (CTEK). My stator specs: Resistance: 0,3 ohms AC voltage: 20 VAC Could you Zack measure these from your stator? AC voltage and resistance, would help me alot! Best regards, Juha |

Someone! Please help me. You can measure resistance and VAC straight from statorīs connector. Easy. Must know sure that will I re-wind my stator... Juha |

There are video's on http://www.roadstercycle.com/Roadstercycle.com%20V ideos.htm that will show you how to test your stator. Hope this helps. Shawn |

Hello, Thanks. I know how to do the measuring, now I will need comparison values (old model stator 2008-2009). BR, Juha |

I would measure mine if my bike was currently in pieces at the moment. However, checking in the service manual the resistance on the stator should be .1-.3 Ohm's. The output should be 35-40 VAC at 3000 rpm. This is from the stator. Mind you this is the 2008 manual. Redo your test for 3000 rpm and see if it is close to that. I will say though, even at 2000 rpm yours seems low. |

My cheap chinese multimeter says .1-.3 Ohms and 22.6-23VAC at idle, 38 @ 3000 and 50 @ 4k. All 3 legs pretty much identical. HTH Z |
