Anyone working at a HD dealer wanna look it up for me? I need a lower for leg. Mine is leaking between the chrome part and the cast aluminum... JB weld and RTV adhesive couldnt seal it LOL. Thanks! Edited: I forgot to mention it is the right fork!! (Message edited by tbowdre on July 09, 2013) |

Um.... I'm not even sure what to say. Can you take a picture of the issue for us? I might be able to save you a ton of money if you haven't screwed it up... |

The lower part of the fork leg is essentially a 2 piece assembly with a chrome tube pressed into a cast aluminum piece... mine leaks at this location. It has for about a year now and I want to replace it. I could take a picture but it will just look like the lower fork tube.... |

I get it now. I thought for second you JB Welded the fork seal... Whew. Actually, that comes apart, I believe! I could be wrong -- I don't do my own forks -- but I think you can pull it using the screw at the bottom of the tube in the axle area. You may just need the tube. |

I'm not totally sure, to be honest -- I'm really not a forks/suspension tech. Where are you located, I can hook you up with a good one. |

J8143.1AMA is the slider for the right fork tube. That is just the slider, not including the outer sleeve. If its for the CR than its J8143.1AT the slider and bottom piece where the brake mounts is sold as a whole unit. (Message edited by Jcjohnson33 on July 09, 2013) |

Well who the hell ends up with a fork leaking from this spot? I couldnt believe it myself. The bike has never been down and I have serviced everything myself for 22,000 miles including the forks. |

> Well who the hell ends up with a fork leaking from this spot? To be honest, I'm not sure I believe it. I'd be looking a fork seal leak or even a brake line leak first. I mean, I'm sure you know exactly what you are talking about, have done those already, and sure enough you are right. But at the same time, I've never seen or heard of this on any bike. Definitely a first. |

Same here. Would even go so far as to say that's impossible, unless it's some kind of manufacturer defect. Not doubting you, of course, just in general. (I thought you meant you JB welded the fork seals too!) |
