Id say they are about average price. Most of the jap bikes in the 600 class in the same price range. Two things to consider tho, the market isn't there for these bikes anymore nor is the service/aftermarket support. Ive had mine for two months, had the stator fail and found out non of the dealers service buells here in Denver. There are a few small shops that do but charge a lot. So after all the work trying to fix it and spending crap ton on parts and waiting for them to be shipped in, I opted to look at trading it in. My highest offer from a dealer was $2500. They are fun bikes no doubt, just make sure you look over it real good if you plan on getting one. |

I was under the impression that HD dealerships with service centers were required by law to service the vehicle? I suspect the particular shops just refused because they didn't want to deal with it, but I'm 70% sure they're actually legally bound to do so at least as long as the manufacturer is required to provide parts. |

BBOB The 08R has a smaller alternator and if not over taxed seems to be reliable, the 9-10 bike have more power ( ALTERNATOR ) but are subject to heat failure, if you like to tinker( they are not hard to work on) and have $$ to put into one an 1125 is a good bike. if you have to pay to have it serviced you may wish to look else where, if you go 09 or 10 get the ebr modified alternator rotor, and a re-wind from (RICKS?) using high temp wire and varnish. consider modding the voltage regulator by changing it out for a roadstercycle CE605 switching regulator. the only other change is to consider the upgrade rear wheel, the tappet shims are the same as a Vrod, once you rotate the engine down or pull the frame the machine is easy to work on some early bikes may need the clutch slave cylinder repaired or replaced. The engine is potent and easy to live with, the out of box bike other wise is a great sport bike for the street. the belt drive is good, and trouble free Me I am setting my bike up with hard luggage, taller wind screen, improved seat, I have the seat pins, perhaps 2 35w hid's for the low beams, I need to do the 2 bearing rear wheel too. |

As I understand it, only the H-D dealers that were Buell dealers as well can order Buell parts, and those are probably the only dealers that would even agree to service a Buell at this point. |

If you buy a manual and learn a few basics, they are easy to live with. Cheap bikes will probably have stator/rotor/vr in need of attention, allow for replacement of these things in your budget, they are not that hard to replace yourself. What you end up with is in my opinion one of the most under rated, unloved, misunderstood, ultimate bang for your buck sports bike you can buy. A true Buell, different in every sense! |

I am looking at selling my 2009 cr, red. Let me know if you are interested. I'll be in Abbotsford BC on aug 10. I am thinking of 5500 canadian. lots of extra's incuding the ebr rotor, barker's exhaust, after market mirrors, k&n air filter, ebr race ecm tuned for the barker exhaust, and I also have all the original parts you can put back on the machine to pass any applicable inspections. Let me know what you think. Craig (Message edited by craigsmoney on August 03, 2013) |
