Only had this bike a few weeks, well it was about 107* today went to get gas, opened my gas cap like normal and there was a tower 2+ feet high of gas going EVERYWHERE. it poured out over a gallon of gas, ruined my painted side covers, my windscreen is cracked like crazy, never seen anything like it. I do see posts about boiling gas... never would have though it was that bad haha |

His profile says he's in San Jose, so it should have a Cali can on it. |

Yes, you can disconnect the hose marked To Gas Tank or something like that, then route the hose out of the bike away from any hot or painted surfaces, as it may drip fuel. |

don't overfill the tank, when you do gas goes to the can and plugs it. the stock drain goes down the left passenger peg bracket with a p-clip. I just zip tied mine on. |

There's a kind of step in the top of the frame/tank/frank. If you fill it above that step everything over it gets channeled to the vent/overflow/Communist States of California emission system. On a non Cali bike, if you fill it plumb up to the bottom of the filler, five minutes later you will have a huge puddle of gas around your rear tire, and I (I mean you) freak out looking for a leak, and some passerby former Bueller informs you of the vent hose. |

Regardless of overfilling, if you disconnect it you will notice a fuel odor because the vent won't be filtered through charcoal. FYI. |
