I've read different posts about different tires not fitting with the stock exhaust. Has anyone had any issues with the Michelin Power Cup tires and the stock exhaust? |

I haven't had problems with the Cups (don't run them), but the slicks (190 and 200 only) will rub on high ride-height set ups, and even with more or less normal geometries cannot be used with a belly pan and the stock exhaust. If you are doing a lot of track duty with this bike, you are going to want to move to an aftermarket pipe. It makes a lot of space under the bike and it sheds a lot of weight. It's a good move. |

I would like to get an aftermarket exhaust and matching ecm but the budget just doesn't allow it. I trying to do 5-6 track days this year. |

You should be able to use a 180/55 without a belly pan. Are you using the stock shock? |

Jhuppdog, I'm going to thread jack, since I'm seeing you Saturday, I'll buy you a drink. I also didn't realize that you had mounted the cups. Jdugger, I have a drummer with stock shock, am looking at changing from the Pirelli trackday Pro to either the Dunlop 190/60 d211GPA or the 200/55 KR449. Are you aware of any fitment issues with either of those? |

The Pirelli 180 "Pro" works perfectly fine. It's a good trackday choice. It's not a fast tire, but it's durable and easy to get set up. With the Dunlop, go with the 190. The 200 is really intended for a 6" wheel and will flatten out quite badly on our wheels. The Dunlop UK 195 slick is reportedly more narrow than the GP-A made 190. I know around here the American tires are not well regarded, even as the UK tires seem to be the favorite in the paddock. You will need to add ride height with the Dunlop. It's a very "flat" tire. |

I haven't mounted the Cups yet. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a known issue with clearance |

I just pulled a 190 GPA off peggy and I had to trim a little notch out of my Drummer to clear when all the weight is off the bike. |

Nm can you post a picture of the "notch" Wouldn't be getting these tires until I'm already at the track, so want to know what dremel bits I might need. |

I just took a 4" grinder and with the tire on I held it at 90 degrees to the tire and sent it through. You wind up with a small notch in the bottom of the tip.FWIW I sent the mid pipe and can in because the front bracket broke out of the mid pipe.Mr. Drummer inspected my can and said it was fine and sent me a new mid pipe with no front bracket. He suggested not bolting up the front bracket to keep this from happening.Very helpful guy.Even gave me some tips for setting up my suspension for the track. |
