Has anybody put a Firebolt seat sub-frame on their 1125 ? I hate the "fat" under tray, I prefer the shallower one on the Firebolt, and was wondering if the sub-frame would swap out so I could change the tray. Yes, and I know the mounting points are different and I would have to make alterations - I was more concerned about if it would lift the seat any higher as I only just properly touch the floor with my feet now ... |

The frame is slightly wider on the 1125 so you would have to make up some kind of spacers or 'spread' the subframe slightly I think. I used a XBR race subframe on a Uly frame which was wider and got that to work, so it is possible. The other thing that may limit this though is the gubbins (ECU and battery etc) under the seat. I don't know if this will all fit into the XB subframe and undertray? I'm sure it can be done but it may not be aas easy as doing an XBR-XBS swap. |

The 1125 has the following main bits under the seat: Battery Voltage regulator Fuse box Offset mounted rear shock A firebolt has: Battery ECM Center mounted rear shock Space should be comparable but the frame would definitely have to be modified to mate to the 1125 tank. |

Space should be comparable but the frame would definitely have to be modified to mate to the 1125 tank. The 1125 airbox cover/tank is exactly the same as the Xb and they are interchangeable, so that really isn't an issue. Seat units are completely interchangeable too, so the only issue is the undertray. If you look at the relative depth of the Xb undertray compared to the 1125 it is much shallower, so there must be some reason why the 1125 had so much more depth to the underseat area than the XBR did? I don't have an 1125 to compare with, but surely they would just have put the XBR rear end completely onto the 1125 unless there was a good reason to make a new one? |

The airbox is not the frame. The tail section is not the subframe. The OP asked about changing the subframe. People who put xb-s tails on 1125s have to make spacers and brackets from what I remember. An xb-s tail will bolt directly onto an xb-r frame so that tells me the mount points are the same. Ergo, if you have to fabricate to mount an xb-s subframe...youll have to fabricate to mount an xb-r subframe. |

Which is what I said in the first place.... The frame is slightly wider on the 1125 so you would have to make up some kind of spacers or 'spread' the subframe slightly I think. I used a XBR race subframe on a Uly frame which was wider and got that to work, so it is possible. My point later was that the airbox cover, seat unit etc are interchangeable so the only body part that is different is the undertray. |
