Hey folks. Just curious about what some of you are getting for mileage? |

Don't know having to much fun I'm getting about 25/30 per mile worse if I get to whooping on it |

Usually anywhere between 6 to 8L/100km with 7 being the average. Just a little different than the 4.4 to 6 all the literature promised! (Message edited by captjoe on June 23, 2013) |

I must learn the secret of how some of you get such great mileage. I've done trips on Mr. Buell with the mileage below what I would have gotten in the Jetta! I've quit looking. |

32 to 35, depending on what I'm doing with it. Froggy cheats. Lol! He shuts down his bike at stop lights and going down hills. But hey, he kicks all of our butts in the mpg department! |

My Scion gets about 30 mpg. My Buell (in the 1 day of riding I've owned it for) doesn't get as good |

If I spend a full tank just cruising on the highway I'll get mid 40's... That said, the bike is my go-fast and have-fun vehicle. I've got a Jetta TDI for the fuel economy side. |

I know what you mean. My 2002 Golf TDI betters the 1125R by about 15mpg! |

The highest I've gotten was 49mpg and the lowest was 27mpg. Averages at about 35mpg when she's being used to commute in short, stop and go traffic. |

Froggy also weighs less than my Arai... Typically, I get 31 average. Dead-reliable, consistent as hell, hand-calculated and on the display both. And DAMN is it a fun 31mpg!! |

+1 Ratbuell! I love hearing 'Only 30 mpg & 40 highway? My chevrysler camrycord gets that!' To which I respond, 'Your camrycord won't go 170mph, merge into traffic like it's standing still, or gain you access to the POV lanes.' |

Am right in there with the crowd. I get 33-37 most of the time. This on all stock power train, '09 1125R. I use 89 octane gas here on on left coast. Have gotten 43 really nursing it when I had a long way to next gas. It's all in the wrist. |

Jim and Frank have the extremes - somewhere between 19 and 45. I get 39 on summer gas and 35 in winter. My Uly gets almost the same.. Z |

In all fairness, I'm throwing away a lot of momentum on the brakes... MPG goes waaaaaay down on the track. Also running race fuel which has lower energy output per gallon, anyway. |

My cluster says I've averaged 31mpg. Mostly commuting, a little slabbing, and a modest amount of twisties. I usually end up filling up at around 140-160 miles on a tank, and that's after being on reserve for a bit. |

Ok here's a dumb question: If race fuel has less energy output, why use it? |

> If race fuel has less energy output, why use it So you can bump up the compression and get more power. |

Higher octane fuel is less likely to pre-ignite. The benefits are higher compression and increased timing. Fuel injected engines reap the rewards even more because the ECM will adjust timing for you. I love watching newbs drag racing at the track on carbs. They think with race fuel that they'll go faster, but they go slower. "I can't figure out why I'm running slower. I even put Turbo Blue in it." "That's your problem." |

Mid to high 30's on the road. Low 20's on the track. Went down a bit adding the EBR ECM, but the power and rideability is well worth it. (Message edited by cutty72 on June 28, 2013) |
