In the pictures I have seen a real small hole and another picture had about a 1/4" hole in the rotor which one is right?

If the pic is of the same rotor, the tiny hole is on the side that faces the stator and the 1/4" hole is on the same hole but on the other side of the rotor presumably where it gets supplied by pressurized oil from the crank.

The tiny hole is the one from EBR. Stick with it. You don't need a large hole.

What size is the tiny hole? EBR drilled mine out but the tiny hole did not go all the way through could not see any light or get a small wire through so I drilled it out to 1/4" now I am going to half to fix it. I though they didn't drill it out deep enough.

Drilled it where? It isn't a straight hole IIRC, it's precision machined and relatively expensive for a reason.

If you have seriously drilled the hole out to 1/4" do not run the bike if you have fitted it. with that size hole you are seriously compromising the oil supply to the rest of the engine as you will have the same effect as having a 1/4 bore hose disconnected allowing the oil pressure to escape uncontrolled.

The oil jet hole is so small, I was concerned that some of the Loctite 272 that I thoroughly coated all the threads with would seep over and clog the hole. I did let the loctite cure overnight before starting the engine so I think it is ok.

I guess you could tap it to the size of your favorite carb jet.

I run hot in the summer, I have to rejet my stator in the spring. ; )

(By the way, this is a joke)

Reepicheep you are real close to what I was going to do. Does anyone have a drill bit to stick in the small hole and let me know what size it is?

The hole is very tiny and unless you held it up to a light source it would look to the naked eye that it hadn't been drilled right through ; )

the hole is most likely made by a process called "Wire EDM" (EDM=Electro Discharged Machining)..the process is done in a tank underwater...the wire can range in size of .002 dia to .012 dia.
here's link to a shop that has a brief definition of the process:

http://www.twincityedm.com/wireedm.htm

Den C ...if you're in marysville...might have to travel up I-71 to Cleveland to find a machine shop with the correct equip.
....hope this helps

I don't think the hole is put in with a wire EDM if a EDM machine is used I would bet that it is a plunge EDM using a carbon electrode. A wire EDM has to have a starter hole through the material to pass the wire through to start. Second the hole has two diameters or as some call a stepped or counter bored hole.
