Just got my Mini DVR 808 #16 camera in and I've been thinking of a good place to mount it on my 1125R when I get the bike back from the shop. Does anyone else have this micro cam and found a good area to place it on or around the fairing? It came with velcro strips to attach it, but I'm not sure if using velcro to hold the cam in place at speeds of 75 or 85 mph is a good idea. Any previous experience with mounting the cam would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

I have one. The issue is not with the cam coming off, but with vibration. The camera is sensitive to vibration due to relatively slow sensor scan speed and high compression, which results in the infamous wavy video on acid look. The camera is so light that the velcro acts like little springs, making things worse. Anything you can do to mount the camera solidly helps. Vertical movement is not as bad as horizontal so swing arm, handle bars, fork tubes etc. Try to avoid unsupported plastic parts that induce their own vibration. |

I don't know anything about that specific cam, but if there are different modes, pick the one with the highest frame rate that still has a usable resolution. Higher frame rate seems to help the jello cam effect some, and speed and motion end up looking smoother. I don't run my GoPro Hero on 1080 res for that reason. |

Helmet mounting has a lot less vibration, and is pointed the right direction much more often. |
