2 month ago i installed all mods that would help charging system Rikcs Electric stator rebuild EBR rotor CE-605sb i passed about 1500 miles after i installed all this modifications, and everything was ok but what happened in last 24 hours still dont let me sleep yesterday i was riding my CR1125 2009 in tight traffic, after i went on highway the battery light came on screen. i was like s...t not again..and voltage dropped to 11,6 i thought it died again. but today on morning i started bike and it was giving charge like normal, but little bit lower that before, 14.0 Before yesterday accident it was giving 14,5 at idle....but that is not so important How all it could be? Yesterday voltage died like first time, lights were coming weak. can anyone explain me what happened ? my stator cured itself??? or it was just VR that made problem as it was very hot also after all i took off the stator cover and took a look on stator condition, it looked just like it came from rebuild.all windings looked ok my VR is under seat but little bit modified for airflow, but still it comes hot in tight traffic. any ideas ? |

Maybe you could rig a small fan like a PC fan with a switch to force air over the VR as long as you have it mounted under the seat? Others have mounted the CE 605SB out by the license plate for cooler airflow. |

Went with the compfire VR without stator or rotor upgrade havent had no issue with charging anymore going over 6kand miles so far. only starter problems sprag clutch needs to be replace |

i thought the ce 605 sb is better as i read it from different threads. so what was the "mystical death" of stator still i dont understand. but i am happy that it gives charge again. |

Sounds like with your luck the battery is about to take crap. Maybe you should do some load testing on your battery just for s##ts and goggles. |

1125rcya i dont know what was that...but definitely i am going to move the voltage regulator under the tail the charge gives now 14,1 at idle on cold engine in tight traffic when it is hot it drops to 13,3 13,5 but as soon as i move 13,7 14,0 do you have the same results?
