My brother just purchased a used 08 1125R. He lives out of state so I was not able to inspect the bike before he purchased it. My 1125R make a wirrling sound when you first turn on the key prior to starting. I assume that to be the fuel pump cycling on. He said that his bike makes the same sound for a minuet after he shuts it down. I do not recall my bike doing that. Does anybody have nay ideas? Is there an older ECM flash that would allow the sound? Thank you for your help. |

It's just keeping the fuel line pressurized, nothing wrong with it. |

Perfectly normal. If it doesn't make those noises, then worry |

ECM logic keeps the fuel rail at operational pressure for 10 minutes after shutdown. Originally the ECM kept the pressure up for 20 minutes - It was killing batteries, so Buell made a new ECM map to drop to 10 minutes. Z |

It's funny, almost every person that is around after I get off and we're standing around asks me why my bike is still running. (Notice the extra "o" and missing "l" :-) ) (Message edited by noobuel on April 24, 2013) |

I never really paid attention to it on my 1125R. I guess I am just used to the fans running on my XT. |

Mine cycles multiple times after I shut her down. I think with the boiling fuel and a recently discovered clogged cali can it had to work harder to keep the pressure correct. I'm glad you posted because I was going to ask the same question. |

I thought it was the shielding for the Di Lithium crystals being lowered over the core |
