Hmmm...the manual shows (3) wires Red/w, Black/w and Tan/w...the red is (+) voltage; the black is grnd(-); the tan sends the signal to the ECM that the kick stand is down...The ECM then controls the spark ...not the kick stand switch. I'm guessing here...the ECM is looking for (a) + voltage (Red + tan)....OR (b) - ground ( Black + tan) suggest you first test by connecting the tan and black - (ECM sees (-) from the kick stand) and see if the bike starts...if it does ( test = fails) if it does NOT start ( Test = pass) try the new switch between the tan and black. If test = fail....try red to tan and see if the bike starts...if it does not start then one wire from the switch goes to tan and one to red hope this helps Note the switch "logic" must be Normally Open (NO) and when switched ( shifted) it becomes Normally Closed (NC)...if the switch is NOT (NO) - you may have to buy another switch from Dyno/PowerCmndr...you can check this with an Ohmmeter before you get tooo far a third connection might be - Tan+Black ( connected to one wire on the switch) and then red to the other wire ( this would be like connecting all (3) wires together...a direct short in my opinion ( Pos & Neg) and I wouldn't think this would be good...but I don't know what the ECM is looking for - you may want to call EBR and ask... I'm about to do the same on my B bike. It's the kick stand switch, right? Are those already in the wiring harness and just not connected, or will I need to pull leads to the ECM? |

Since Mack has apparently left the building, I contacted Danny at EBR who gave me this info: Side stand wires: Quick shift wires: Black = Green Tan = Blue Red-Not used Straight from the horses mouth. As an aside...Mack if you're out there, people on this forum usually like to share info and, more often than not in my experience, will go to extreme measures to help fellow members. If I'm out of place, my apologies. I'll post pics of my install when I'm done! Will |

Will - Easy on Mack - sometimes life gets in the way. I have read almost every thread on this board since 2007(1125) but sometimes I'm away for a day or three... This is the most active 1125 board I've found but sometimes an answer takes a few days. I had no answer myself... Z |
