Well I have asked my 73 y/o Dad to take a 2 1/2 hour journey to Moonshine, Illinois. I hear people have traveled near and far for a moonburger. I am really greatful because this will be the first time my dad and i have ridden together, besides fuel 5 mile a way. Anyone else going from on here? If you google it, it comes up population of 2. One house (2 if ya count the out house) I heard that people ride an iron butt just for the burgers. Hope to see a couple of you there. (Message edited by redbuell1203 on April 10, 2013) |

Never heard of Moonshine, but it's not too far off of I70. I'll have to stop there on my way to Putnam Park (Mt. Meridian, IN) for a track day in a few weeks. Let us know how it is. |

I just wanted to say that the amount of nice people down in Moonshine was nice to see. I was really taken back a little that most everyone that i had talked to were first timers like myself. Burgers that were ready faster then Jimmy Johns and there were thousands of people. On the other hand I had my kickstand fail on me at the gas station about 25 miles from arriving. Yep heard it break, my left foot that is! Rode the journey the rest of the way and back home in pain. X-ray says yep it is broken. |

I'm going to have to stop there this summer in my way through, I have probably passed it a dozen times and not known it was there. Sorry to hear about your foot, those are the rough days. Two years ago one of my riding partners high sided on a turn in the middle of nowhere tennessee on a Sunday afternoon breaking his clutch lever and shifter off, as well as bruising his ankle up really good. We had to jimmy rig his shifter with a hose clamp and jam a bolt found on the side if the road into what remained of his clutch lever so he could pull the cable. This was 7 hours of riding to get us home to Columbus OH and he had to bump start his bike after every stop. |

Apparently it's only open for lunch. We called them on our way to Putnam on Friday evening and they said they closed at 1PM. http://themoonshinestore.com/ |

A friend just did the RT 28/US 129/ Cherahola and Blue Ridge run with us on his 400 Burgman, 300+ mile days. He had a blast, no chicken strips left on the tires and he ran 80 mph with no issues on the few highway runs we had. Plenty of pics of him on the photo websites. He's the guy on the Burgandy super scooter pics are primarily on April 16th. |

Hey Blackmax do you have a link to the run? would like to see some pics. My father had a great time riding although it was his first long ride. He is still worried about s-curves. He is not up to OWNING the corners. LOL |

Redbuell1203, Check out Killboy, 129 slayer photos, or the moonshiner 28 site. We were there on Tuesday April 16th. I think the photos start around number 220 on both Killboy and 129 photos and around 12:37 on 129 slayer. A 650 will be even more capable, our friend only had a hard time on the steeper passes. |
