Can the rotor cover be pulled off and turned aside for replacement with EBR rotor without removing the stator wiring from the chassis? Is there enough wiring for the flexibility to pull off and turn to the side? Hoping that my stator is still good as bike is charging perfectly. Thanks Mort |

Yes. Just did it yesterday. That plastic guide is a pain. Just pulled it out of the way and removed the crank sensor. |

Yes i did the same thing to as Jbarron did when i replaced my rotor last fall. My stator was fine and had been replaced once already as the date stamp on the stator was later than the production date of the bike. I used a rubber tarp strap and hooked it from the cover to my rear footpeg hole to sort of hang the cover back away from the engine to take the weight off the stator wires. I didnt want to do the whole pull the wires through the harness thing if i didnt have to. It did however pose a challenge when it came time to torque the nut to 295 ft.lbs. The cover was in the path of my torque wrench so instead of torqing naturally downward i had to torque by pulling upward from the front of the bike. If youre working by yourself as i was this becomes a bit tricky as the bike will lift up. Luckily i had my heavy Harbor freight wheel chock and strapped the bike down to that and it worked. |

Hi Buell3some and Jbarron- Just to clarify-did you have to remove the stator from the cover or did you just hook the cover with the stator in it off to the side? thanks again! Mort |

Nope left the stator on the cover the whole time and tied it back as Buell3some says. Needed two to do the torque. One laying on the bike while the other does the wrenching. 295 is a lot of torque. Go get some long 6mm bolts and cut the heads off to use for guides. Makes a big difference with the guides getting the cover on and off. The gasket tore when we pulled the cover, luckily we bought a spare. |

Do you have to remove the puck to take ignition cover off? |

Thanks, also do you just move the wiring harness cover to the sensor. I don't think I can get to the cover bolt with out rotating engine. |

Duh, just reread your earlier post Jbarron, feeling pretty stupid right now. Thanks, again. |
