I love the way the Firebolt upper fairing looks. I have already done this kind of think once with my XB12S and it was fairly easy. Now that I have an 1125R, im going to do the same thing and I think it will look even better! All the research I have done says it will work fine. The only unknown at this point is will the headlight mount bolt to the 1125 fairing stay in the correct position?? If anybody has some useful tips for me, please share! I will be posting pics and status as I go along. I ordered some parts (fairing, windscreen, and fasteners) this weekend. Im still trying to locate a Firebolt headlight assembly. |

I was going to attempt the same thing a couple of years ago. I got the Firebolt fairing mounted up to the 1125R stay but it isn't a great fit. I was going to try to find a firebolt stay but other projects took over. Also I'm not sure how that upper fairing will look with the pods. Post pictures when you get further along. |

Im sure its been done. All of the search results ive gotten show the firebolt fairing on race bikes. My search skills may suck. Are there details for street bikes on this site? Ive got the wiring figured out, im just concerned about mounting |

Not sure if you're interested in increasing your search outside the borders of the USA, but back in 2008 I had my last experience hanging out with Bueller's in Germany. Buell-Hannover offered what they called an 1125RR, that was basically a Firebolt reminiscent front fairing (and likely complementary full fairing setup). Buell-Frankfurt also distributed these because they are/were related to Buell-Hannover in some way. Some of these pics are from Hamburg Harley Days 2008, some are from the Buell-Frankfurt dealership, and maybe even some are from the 2008 BORG MSM (Buell Owner and Repair Group Mid Summer Meeting).
As you can tell from the pic above, it still has the 1125 Instrument Cluster on it, so I'm assuming the Firebolt-esque front fairing is adjusted to fit the stock 1125 front fairing bracket. Since I wasn't an 1125 owner at the time I didn't really focus on the details all that much.

This shows some detail of the front fairing shape:
Never mind the funny sticker...Who says German's don't have a sense of humor? And here's one that appears to be in the middle of being transformed at Buell-Frankfurt:
I even picked up a piece of sales literature (single sheet) for the 1125RR:
Websites for Buell-Hannover and Buell-Frankfurt still have contact info listed. Based on how passionate these 2 dealers were, I wouldn't be surprised if you could still reach someone that could help you out. FWIW, 1313 |

This may be a dumb question...their website looks like its in german. If I write them an email that english, will they read it? Most Europeans - especially younger ones - have knowledge of multiple languages. Nowadays English is one of the languages they are required to learn during their schooling. It is, however, a possibility that they will be less likely to read it, especially if they are from the older generation where Russian was their mandatory 2nd language. However, I've got a good friend in Germany, and I'm sure he'll be able to make contact for you. I'll send you a PM so I can put the 2 of you in contact with each other. So keep an eye out in your Email - possibly in your SPAM folder - and get back to me, or if you want just send me a PM as I know I get mine. We'll get you the info you desire, 1313 |

I finally got some parts in, well all of them but the headlights. I test fit the firebolt fairing, and it does not match up to the 1125 fairing stay. So now im going to get a fairing stay and see if it will work. More waiting... |

Or you could just put the text of your email in Google translate to convert it to Deutsch first. Crazy what the interwebs can do. |

Well I got the fairing stay in, but it got bent during shipping so I have to wait for a new one. Looks like it will mount just fine. The instrument cluster will be interesting though. I went ahead and wired up the headlights. I have pictures but the site wont let me upload them because they are too big. I dont know how to shrink them. Any hints? |

Got everything installed except for the instrument cluster. I think it turned out pretty damn good! I have more pictures of the installation that I will put up once I get them sized down. Here she is! The 1125R Firebolt

Well here it is: Everything is pretty much bolt on. There are two things that need to be fabricated/modified. You have to change the connector on the firebolt headlight pigtail to match the 1125R. There are lots of options for how you want the lights to work. Mine are both on all of the time. There is a picture showing which pins are hot in different modes. The other, and more difficult, fabrication is the fairing stay. The firebolt one just BARELY doesnt fit. You have to grind down the inside of the neck to get it to slide onto the frame and align with the holes. In retrospect, I should have just made an adapter plate. Other than that, its regular firebolt assembly. If anyone needs other pictures or info, just let me know. I will be tearing it down again soon to get the fairing stay powder coated black.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that. Obviously the instrument cluster is not a direct bolt on. However, 1 of the 3 holes required and the hole for the cable does match. So I will need to drill 2 holes and hope they land on a spot where there are no structural ribs |

Those of you who ride 1125 and complain about the excessive vibration in the mirrors, I have a solution for you! Now that I have a Firebolt fairing stay on mine, there is NO vibration in the mirrors. I can see perfectly behind me. I guess the "tactical" look of the 1125 fairing stay is what causes the excessive vibration. |

That looks good there! maybe an idea to make a thin plate to cover up the holes behind the instruments!? |

Regarding the holes: It might be costlier, but a talented welder should be able to fill them. A little careful touch up with a die grinder, followed by a sand-blasting and fresh powder coat, and you shouldn't be able to tell they were ever there... |

My plan is to let a welding shop fill the holes, then I will sand it smooth. Then I will have it powder coated the ice blue to match the frame, or flat black. All of that wont be done for a while. I need to enjoy it a little first before I take it apart again |
