Can a Barkers ECM be used with a Keda exhaust and expect similar results or are the two pipe designs different enough to warrant dedicated ECM's ? |

Im using a HMF ECM with my home made pipe and I dont have any popping on decel. I have more torque and overall much more power. Lifts the wheel easily at 100 mph. Picked up a few MPGs even though Im grabbing much more throttle at every turn. 6...1/2 dozen ... or the other..IMO. One thing for sure is that you want an ecm that belongs to the R or CR version or your speedo will be off because they are geared differently. |

Why not just send the ECM back for a reflash? If you're dropping the cash on a great exhaust, don't skimp on the brains of the operation. |

Thanks for the info, Have a used Keda RT-1 on the way and just saw an ECM for a Barkers on ebay was hoping to save $100 if results would be nearly identical. |

Go for it. I also got one of the very first race ECM's tuned by Michael Richter at Buell and the first few were just "universal" but suggested they worked fine with several different add on systems. I did send him all my specifics on pipe lengths, OA length, ID size, muffler, air cleaner(K&N),etc. Weather he used those to tune my ECM I do not know, but it has worked exceptionally well for many years. I'd just give it a try before sending it back for re-programming. (Message edited by Bob_thompson on February 26, 2013) |

I'd say go for it too. They both are very free flowing exhaust so the tuning difference can't be much. |

Blackmax, I assume you are thinking of the Barker ECM on Ebay. I have a CR and was thinking the same thing as I am currently having my stock exhaust modded. Its a steal if it'll work for you, Im outta luck though with CR gear difference. |

Yes John that's the one I'm thinking of, kind of feeling the same way that these two exhausts probably flow similar enough to warrant trying it out. |

Just reread the posting, seems the ecm is off a sunken bike from hurricane sandy. Don't think I'm going to chance wasting the $$ |
