I picked up a used worn once Bell Revolver flip face with a transition sheild on it. I really like the lense and the flip face but the helmet is a little noisy. As I age, I am a bit more interested in saftey. Is this a safe helmet? Has anyone that owned one of these gone down with it on? Any feedback on the new Bell helmets? |

Just as a start, this isn't really a topic for the 1125 board. Now, on to the helmet suffs: From my experience, all flip face lids are noisy. At least always more noise than their full face counterparts. Safe and a flip is always a question mark, and I have no knowledge of the retention system used on it. If it's not metal I wouldn't wear it. I just don't see how two plastic hooks are going to keep the bar in place if my chin takes a digger, ya know? |

If you want a modular helmet that fits and feels like a full face look at the HJC RHPA-Max. It's one of the best (for me) modular helmets I've ever worn. The Bell Revolver has never impressed me. The internal shield rattles around. My bell rep came by the other day and they are now on their 3rd revision of the 2nd gen revolver "evo" and it still seems plasticy to me. Not sure if plasticy is a word or not. I get many calls about the revolver because it seems to look good in the catalog. |

I have one. It's VERY noisy. Big gaps around the earholes imho is the reason. Otherwise, it's no less safe than any other DOT lid. I don't think I've heard of any claims where the face shield popped off in a crash and the rider lost his nose etc. Wear earplugs. |

Yeh it absolutely is noisey and I do wear earplugs. Otherwise I really like it and the transition lense is great. |

I am on my 4th Nolan modular. First 2 were N-100, last 2 were/are N-102C. Noisy but very good fit, ride well when open and I LOVE the ski-latch chinstrap. I hate D-rings... I was going to get an N103 last spring, but Dan got me a closeout from Drag Spec for $80. woo-hoo! Z (Message edited by zac4mac on March 03, 2013) |
