Me and a few friends went riding around the Malibu Hills, around the famous area that Jay Leno rides in. We stopped by The Rock Store to check out the hundred or so motorcycles there.

The roads around the Malibu Hills are usually tight & twisty with lots of decreasing radius turns. The 1125R was a great companion on these roads.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a nice cruise along the California coastline. Had a great time, saw lots of beautiful motorcycles, and met a few cool riders.

Below is me on my 1125R. The picture was taken on the road called "The Snake" by locals.

This was my first time on the the 1125R there. The bike was great! It's very easy to ride on tight twisty roads. I did notice I needed to either maintain a higher corner speed in 2nd or shift to first on a few REALLY tight turns! At one point, a really tight one crept up on me and I had to tighten my line. However, the 1125R just stayed the course and tightened it up just like I wanted. Piece of cake!

My only beef was on some sections of road, the pavement was a bit bumpy. Not really broken up but just had what felt like "lumps", which required me to keep a relaxed grip on the bars. The stock R suspension is a bit too firm on bumpy roads. But when the road smooths out the bike can really rail through it. Even after 300 miles of mostly twisty road, I didn't feel beat up on the R. Really a great sportbike.

Glad you had a good time up. I took mine through there two weekends ago and had a blast!

You're probably well aware of this, but just in case, the manual has recommended suspension settings based on your weight.

Great picture - - thanks for posting. Had a chance to ride Angeles Crest Highway this last September (on the Uly, not the CR) for the first time. Awesome stretch of road. . .

Rodrob, that's the same corner I was in! Damn you look like you were flying the stars and stripes!

I'll PM on the next ride. It's rare that I see Buells out that way. Actually, Buells are rare. Period. There's more Italian bikes that Buells here in CA, which is ironic.
