I gotta say one thing I couldn't be happier with my CR and do not know many who hated there 1125 it is a great platform. Gaurd Rail had his machine under warranty and under Harley Davidson wrenches. The vast majority of these problems were just given a change the parts order and repaired under a parts supplier who is not gonna do a bit of RD and just replace stuff with the same stuff till the warranty runs out. I will say in Guard Rails postion I might have done the same thing though if they are gonna fix it for free fix it however you want. But alas I can't stand being without my bike so I prefer to fix it myself and fix it correctly, but not everyone can do this so it is something to keep in mind. I would also say you look around since the rotor fix has been out not hearing much on failures anymore.BTW it with the upgraded rotor and rewound or replacement stator you DO NOT need the harness fix. |

I started a post and it got a tad long. Click on my name and see my profile for mods and issues. Loretta has been anything but trouble free. Worth the hassle? Yes, in spades. She's one of my rare prizes. Z |

I started a post and gave it up too. Zac and Froggy are always worth listening to. I own four Buells including two 1125Rs with one being an 09. I think I'll just leave it at that. Good luck! |

"Yea it would of been a 10th of that if his dealer was competent." Wouldn't it be wise to eliminate the labor variable if you found yourself in a failure loop? Years ago I went through 2 drive pulleys in a couple of months on my nearly new 1996 S1. The second failure was a couple of months later. The dealers service writer a Buell rider himself told me I was racing the bike too hard. I was quietly amused. When the third pulley failure occurred I took the bike to an independent shop. Same Harley Part but an independent shop. They double nutted the pulley. The pulley has over 80,000 miles on it. My S1 just turned 100,000+ miles a couple of weeks ago. |

Bought a CR about two months ago, then promptly had the stator burn up. Given the research, it was expected. Rebuilt the stator and upgraded the rotor as everyone suggested. Common problem with a relatively simple fix just like every model has, except I wouldnt change this bike for anything right now. The bike is complemented everywhere, something to be said about a bike thats not so easy to come by anymore. |

Yep, I have an 08R and she is a great machine. Personally, if given the chance I would jump on another one in a heart beat. Luckily, I have been able to perform all of the upgrades myself and any difficult work (valve adjustment) has been done by a pro. Keep her maintained and she will treat you well if you choose to got hat route. |
