To perform the 12K+ service - my CR is at 11,500 and I'm wondering if I should get it done before the weather improves.

generally speaking +/- 500mi is the window for most vehicular services.

Depending on how you ride, that's not too early at all.

Increasing the service interval is rarely a bad thing -- just don't let the next service go too long because you did this one early.

I do my valves every season. That's about 40-50 hours. At an average of 80 mph, that's around 3,500 miles! They were way out of spec this year, too!

No matter when you get that service done, make sure they do the service for a Buell 1125 and not a H-D Big Twin which does not involve checking/adjusting valves, like the (not mentioning their name) dealer in Riverside, CA. did to me. And that was the last of my pre-paid maintenance plan services too.
