I was having some electrical gremlins that ended up being a less than stellar chassis ground. Now that the ground is good, it seems that my Low Fuel light is on when I have fuel, and turns off when I'm in a low fuel condition. I'm not sure how the sensor works, but wonder if somehow it has flipped its polarity. Has anyone else seen this? | ||

Drive it. Just run off your odo and fill up every 150 miles. Problem solved! Eventually it will go away. | ||

I can't remember the last time my gas and engine light were not on. I just live with it now. Bike seems to run fine. | ||

Refilling every 150 miles would involve about 25 miles of pushing! We might have different throttle habits  Thanks Drm1125r, glad to know I'm not the only one. | ||

Are you sure of this? The "achilles heel" of the 1125 is the fuel pump, which typically gives out after a few thousand miles. When it's on the way out, the fuel lamp illuminates even when the fuel level is not low. But it does not go off when the fuel level is low. | ||

Torquehd - I have been through a couple fuel pumps to fix broken Low Fuel sensors, and no I'm not sure that isn't the problem. In my experience when that goes out, the light just quits working. The light had been on for a week and It just so happened that it went out right about the mileage that my Low Fuel Light would come on (@ 110.) This got me thinking that maybe my grounding issue had scrambled something so that it is now reading backwards. Two Seasons- I don't want to be rude, but with 40,000 miles on 1125Rs, I KNOW what my fuel consumption is. We just have different riding circumstances, nothing wrong with that. I had never had to push a bike to the gas station till the 1125, now I just buy gas every 100 miles . mileage varies from 25 to 35mpg depending on fun factor so just plan ahead | ||

I used to run 40 miles round trip to work. Every 4 days I filled up. Not hard, but not easy on the throttle either. Was getting the better part of 37mpg. I did the math on 37 x 4.78 gallons. You're right, but I know I was filling up every fourth day. Of course that was interstate with multiple choices along the way for fuel. You guys ought to try a tuber. I can push my X1's to the redline in each gear and still get 200 miles on a tank. As they say, YMMV  |
