08 1125r

Ive been troubleshooting this issue for a long time and i cant get any resolve it seems to be somehow communication related i think

The bike starts fine (ocasionally system voltage appears while starting but it starts no issue) It idles fine. Getting 13 ish volts at idle. put her in gear clutch in still no problems. And heres where it gets wierd

Let the clutch out and as soon as i hit the friction point stall. Starts up fine repeats. I let the clutch out with about 4000 rpm and i can get going....kinda
The bike lurches every second. As if every other second the fuel is shut off volts are fine even through the lurchs just under 14 volts Ebr says theres no way for the ecm to cause this (race ecm) taking there word for it Ive replaced injectors, tps sensor(did the reset), bleed the clutch, im out of ideas and money Anyone have any ideas??

Put the stock ECM back in and see if the issue persists

fuel pumps new too forgot that one. Such a pain in the A$$ i try to block it from memory

I kinda solved it today but not really
What information is being stored during a tps reset

If i do the reset the bike operates wonderfully. Untill i shut it off and back on then its crap again Do a tps rest every start up is a bit rediculous

The tps is like a volume control, the ecu stores the voltage at closed and full throttle, so it sounds like you may have a duff tps or connection.

I agree with Colintornado, it sounds like your issues are TPS related. The sensor may be telling your ECM that the throttle is 10% open while you really have it 50% open, so it only gives it enough fuel to keep it running for 10%.

Go into Diagnostic Mode (hold TOGGLE and MODE on the dash while turning the key to ON), tab through to the TPS percentage and voltage screens, the percentage should smoothly scroll from 2% to 100% as you twist the throttle. You should see similar on the voltage tab, I don't recall the voltages it should display.

I'll have to check the service manual to see the specifics for diagnosing the TPS, but I do believe it is your culprit.

make sure the linkage is closing all the way as well sometimes they hang a bit from the breather hose sticking up to far.

Did you say "New TPS" ?
Have a look at this:
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/B074.pdf

Never ever disassemble a TPS from its throttle body.

While in diag mode, check if the clutch is switching from 1 to 0 when you pull or release the lever.

If I read this right, you are saying a tps reset fixs the issue, but then when you turn it off and restart the problem is back?

If this is correct then check the ecm fuse.
It sounds like the ecm is unable to store the new tps data.

Have to do tps reset everytime with TM stage 1 ecm.

When you do the reset it puts the info into the working memory. When you turn off, the ecm looks at the working memory and burns any changes to the eeprom. This requires a permanent live to ecm,my 09 had the fuse removed...took me and Gunter a week to work out why changes wouldn't stick.

huh ive seen many a forum members change just the tps sensor to include some with a ford part number thats identical. all checked out in diag mode first time it was like 5%- 90% re did reset and its fine i just did a lot all night cleaned out throttle bodies dab of greese where the valve open close, cleaned up the injectors and cleaned all the other linkage. Not sure if its fixed for good but i got it to work 3 times in a row over the coarse of an hour road fine shut her off started again and shes fine. guess we will see

Do the reset with the engine HOT, or you'll get wonky behavior.

OK, I owe someone a beer....or two. I'm adding this just so searches go easier for anyone trying to find an issue. I searched two days before finding the little blurb in this thread about the ECM fuse.

If your TPS reset values do not save, or your values reset after every key cycle, popping under decal, or in my case TPS reading 0 to 100, after reset 2 to 100 until key is cycled off, brief comm error message if key is turned off, and fuel pump doesn't prime (or cycle off and on) anymore after the key is turned off to avoid vapor lock for up to 10 min....

CHECK THE ECM FUSE

Hopefully some of these key words will help someone in the future. I didn't realize all of the symptoms until I put a good fuse in. This bike has had a blown ECM fuse in it since I bought it so I've never seen correct behavior till tonight. I've lerked forever, so it's now time for me to contribute.
