So we have a "V" in the center of our tank and the fuel boils etc. I thought that space shuttle shield material on the inside surface of the tank facing the engine might pull some of the heat out and reduce the fuel boiling issue. I found the following which I believe if the same material see link: http://www.riogrande.com/Product/Ceramic-Honeycomb -Block/502005?pos=29 Your thoughts? |

It has been reported here at BWB that EBR recommends these folks. http://www.aerogel.com/ |

I just bought the heat shield material from American Sportbike, installed it on the inside of the frame rails (sides and front). No more fuel boiling. Took me 25 minutes to install. |

I am likely mistaken, but there is already a material people are putting on the inside of their frames |

not only that but that stuff is a half inch thick... good luck squeezing that in between the engine and frame. I have an 09 that already had the aerogel on most of the inside of the frame but it was still getting hot enough to burn my leg so when i had the frame off to do the valve adjustment i added some more of the heat-shield from Al at American Sport Bike. I also removed the headers and spray-ceramic coated them and cured them, then i wrapped them really good with header wrap, then i sprayed the header wrap with the silicon header wrap treatment. Not sure if it was the extra shielding or the header wrap but the bike runs significantly cooler now. The seat and inside of my thighs don't get hot anymore and the fans don't run nearly as long on shut-down or as often when riding. |

LOL! Yes I did it when my engine was rotated. It was a much more complete job that way. Easier to cut and put on the heat shield without motor in the way. |

I wonder if the new EBR bikes, will have this material mounted on the frame? REX |
