So, it's an odd thing to me watching this over time. It seems like things were moving ahead measurably in terms of the new models and production and then everything went dark. For example, lots of articles about the fund raising, new production models, both in the popular press, and among some of the er, older badweb members. Now now so much. Several people have done web research and contacted people with no appreciable results. For some of us, it would seem to make sense just to announce a timeframe, or let people know it is a no-go or postponed, or whatever. Almost everyone is supportive of the race effort and some would buy 1190rs's if they had a sense of the future. |

Recently talked with the New EBR dealer in Georgia (Blue Moon Cycle). They have not been given any date for delivery of the new models. It is there opinion based upon the conversations they have had with EBR that spring time 2013 is when they will arrive. Gives me time to save money! |

Mack- thanks for that info. That's the first first-hand info we've had posted in a while. The only hints I've found in scouring the web as to why things aren't moving faster is it appears EBR may be signing up dealers slower than they'd hoped. In a June magazine article, Erik is quoted as saying they were on track to hit their goal of 70 dealers by the end of August. Then there's a document on-line that has a list of cities where dealers have signed up (or indicated they intend to sign up) dated early October and it lists only 40-some cities. I'd imagine some potential dealers are holding off until they see what the business/tax ramifications of the recent elections are. Hopefully we'll see some "official" news before too long. |

I just checked something I haven't checked in a while; the EPA listing for certified vehicles on this page: http://www.epa.gov/otaq/crttst.htm The spreadsheets for 2012 and 2013 road motorcycle models were updated last month (November 2012). There's a 2012 listing for two EBR engines (one 1191cc and the other 1193cc, which is weird), but there are no EBR bikes/engines listed in the 2013 document. This seems to indicate EBR hasn't gotten any 2013 bikes EPA-certified yet, and that has to be done before anything can hit the dealers. I imagine there could be any of several reasons for that- they could be having difficulty getting the bikes certified, they may not be ready to certify the bikes, or they could be deliberately holding off certifying the bikes, perhaps to keep their competitors in the dark as long as possible about the bikes' specs. |

IDK if thats a good idea when your trying to sell a product IE no product no sale.Racing I can see it but selling nah. And you know nobody is buying a thing after Christmas until spring fever sets in but with the economic future looking about as good as the past it might be a good idea to strike when the iron is hot so to speak. |
