The view from my rear view mirrors (’08 R) have never been better than fuzzy. I thought about putting silicon around the mirror and the body to “freeze” the mirror in place but then I can’t adjust mirrors later.

By chance I installed an old trick I used on my other bikes: those stick-on “Fish-Eye” mirrors available from any automotive shop. I bought mine from Target. I put these on the outer edges of the mirrors and wow! The view from the fish eyes were actually clear! During the day it’s possible to clearly see vehicles on your blind spots and beyond. It’s kind of like those small bar end mirrors only slightly better because you don’t have to move your head to see.

$10-$14.

It’s not perfect but a significant improvement.

Great Idea. What size did you get?

I did the silicone on the 1125R mirrors I had on my Firebolt and it worked great. There really shouldn't be any reason to adjust the mirror once it is adjusted to your height and riding style.

There was a thread here a few years back, the guy used a license plate camera.

The Fish Eye mirrors were the standard 2.5" diameter I think. They're not the square ones.

I ditched the fancy OEM mirrors and replaced them with Firebolt long-stems.
Very clear image, but more important to me, adjustable.
Terrys1980 - I have 2 positions for the mirror: sitting up and full tuck.
Gotta be able to switch.

Firebolt mirrors are the best I've ever used and they look good on Loretta.
I wired my turn signals to the marker lights.

lights on, signals off

lights on, left turn

I use a rear camera (wireless) and it transmits to a LCD screen below the clocks, on my Ducati 1198. It works well and cost about £100 on Ebay.

Fiero, with the parking brake cable disconnected/broken. Looks like an '84/'85.

The long-stem Firebolt mirrors are a good idea but I wouldn't want to give up my mirror-integrated signals. They're WAY more visible and obvious than wiring up the running lights for it. Unless, perhaps, you wired up some bright yellow LEDs in there too.

It's an 85 SE-6... still in pieces, I've had it since new.
Yup, parking brake disconnected because the motor is out of it.
It sounded like I lost a main bearing, but was a big piece of plastic to locate the timing chain.
Been ready to go back in for a year or three. time/money.

I drive the Camaro when I need a cage.

The marker lights are the original bulbs and are very noticeable with the blue-tint HID lo-beams.
I try to not give cagers the chance to left-turn in front of me, but the signals seem to do their job. for 3-1/2 years.

I LOVE the Firebolt mirrors. Gotta know when Johnny Law is behind me...
