This sounds weird but has anyone put Ulysses tires on an 1125r? Any pictures? |

The Ulysses, depending on year and model, was available with Dunlop D616, Pirelli Scorpion Sync, and Pirelli Diablo Strada. Out of those, the two Pirelli options are discontinued and replaced by the Pirlli Scorpion Trail and the Pirelli Angel ST. I currently run the Scorpion Trail and the Angel ST on my 1125s, they are fantastic tires. Plenty of grip in all street conditions, including wet and cold. The Trail will do better off road than the Angel, but the Angel seems to have a little bit of a longer life expectancy. The D616 on the other hand is so terrible that Dunlop should be forced to recall it. After you get some miles on it, the tire cups and with the Buell steering geometry you get nasty headshakes at highway speeds. |

Those tires have not been out long, do a search on the Big Bad & Dirty section to read up on them. |

After you get some miles on it, the tire cups and with the Buell steering geometry you get nasty headshakes at highway speeds. Not if you run proper pressures. I routinely get 10-15k miles out of a front D616 with no issues (and the proper tire pressure!). ...sorry Froggy... |

I wonder how the 1125r would be as a dual purpose bike? It has the power, but just don't know if the shocks are soft enough. |

Not enough torque down low, the way the engine is tuned/cammed. Again, read the Uly board (big, bad, and dirty) and do a search for "XB9 primary". Even a lot of the 1200 guys make a change to gear the Uly lower, so it revs higher while going slow in the muck. Although, if you *like* burning out clutches...slip away, and go get dirty! |
