It's winter time (Booo). So should I buy and use frame pucks (for what year, make and model) on my 1125r, or should I go for the carbon fiber frame sliders. I would like to hear some personal views. I do ride track days. Thanks mike |

If you can find a set of pucks I think that would be your best choice. Possibly cheaper too. Get some axle sliders to go with it and call it day. |

Frame pucks from Ullys fit the 1125 i've had them on the CR from new and there's a guy on ukbeg selling a new set at the moment (he bought them thinking they would fit a standard XB ) |

Does anyone have any pictures of their 1125R with the frame pucks? |

Xb9er +1: I've cartwheeled mine once, lowsided twice. Axle sliders and pods took the hit both times I lowsided. Busted up fairing and tail on the cartwheel. No frame damage during any of the "incidents", other than som light scuffing when the bike slid through the gravel trap. Not sure you need frame sliders, really, but they might look good anyway..... Carbon case covers are a good call, though:

I thought all of the frame pucks had been bought up and there were no more to be found. I'm not a big fan of frame sliders in general but they seem like they might be a worthwhile investment on an 1125. Anybody have a line on where to buy them? |

They're in stock, and have been for months: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17125.html Note that they do not fit the 1125 as good as the fit the large frame XBs. I run them on my track bike and add additional gaffers tape to help retain them. Worked great the track day that I got punted off the track by some yahoo. You can see some pictures of them on that bike in this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/679446.html Al |

The pucks are still available, your favorite Buell dealer can get them, American Sport Bike usually has them in stock. |

It's a Ventura luggage rack Frinzo with the grab rail fitted in the photo but i've also got the pack rack and sport rack that go with it. Ventura is very good kit and i've got their stuff on the X1 as well. |

Al, is the tape a necessity to keep them mounted properly? I don't see tape on the other pics in this thread, so I'm guessing not--so why did you add the tape? |

Probably not 100% necessary, but they don't have the same exact contour as the frame, so there ARE gaps and places where the adhesive isn't holding them on. In a crash, you don't want them coming off. The tape's kinda ugly, but on a track bike, it it just doesn't matter that much, and it gives just that much more security to them staying on in a wreck. |

When I fitted them to my CR I used black silicon sealant to cover any gaps - it worked a treat ... |

I see there are two different frame pucks for sale. One is for the XB12 and one fore the XB9. They have different pricing so I assume they are different in size. Which ones did you guys use? |

You need the ones for the XB12SS or the Ulysses |
