I've come late to the party but someone correct me if I'm wrong about what needs to be fixed.

Ordered the EBR Rotor Mod

Ordered the CE605SB VR

Waiting on the Twin Cycles Stator Rewind fix? or can I get away with a new old stator design? Willing to wait, if I won't have this problem again or not for awhile.

I think that should cover it. I had a couple other suggestions covering wiring and battery which I will address but for now wanted to get the parts ordered.

Thanks Greg

Here's a Rick's stator I installed for a customer(also a BWBr) a few months ago.

It appeared to be well made, obviously hand wound.
I have seen pix of another that was machine wound... looked perfect.
<edit> it was the one from Oz at Betta Bikes

good luck whatever you choose, wire and insulation are the most important, IMO.

Did they cover the wires with some kind of epoxy?
or just naked wires?

Wiring was bare, well sort of..

"Magnet wire" is coated with a varnish, so it IS insulated, just no gobs of epoxy on top.
This wire has a high temperature coating, probably a urethane.
<edit> or, more likely, Kapton.
