Does anyone know of any tricks or tips to keep the weep at bay until I actually get around to replacing the piston sleeve with the EBR part? I hate pulling over every 50 miles to check the fluid... and that sight glass is total bullshit with that diaphragm, the sight glass can be wet and the reservoir (damn that's a tough word to spell...) only 5% full. |

I once nursed a leaking clutch slave cylinder on a Ford pickup for ~20,000 miles by adding a little "Trans-X" automatic transmission stop-leak stuff to some brake fluid and using that to periodically refill. I had to drop the transmission on the Ford to replace the slave cylinder as it was the concentric type and I wanted to put that job off as long as possible. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/K-W-P roducts-15-oz-stop-leak-and-tune-up/_/N-2609?itemI dentifier=17351_0_0_ This stuff will cause the seals to swell slightly and will slow or eventually stop the leak. The potential downside is that if you get too much in the system, you could ruin the clutch hose, or even ruin both the slave and master cylinder seals, but I never had this problem. I'd suggest mixing it with brake fluid at a slightly lower ratio than suggested for transmission applications and whatever you do do NOT put it in your brake system. YMMV |

Replacing the clutch seals is not a big job |

Does anyone have their not-too-bad old parts after changing them out? Maybe Lee could use those in the meantime? I looked for my old ones, but must have tossed them out. |

ok, I see there are two types of replacement "slave cylinder" assemblies. The EBR and the Twin Cycles. Those who have done the mod, which do you recommend? The twin cycles is a bit more $ but... looks cool in blue haha. |

So Lee, did you try the Trans-X and if so, did it help? |

oh,man, yeah... I tried trans x, that's why I'm looking for a new master cylinder gasket. It sure does cause rubber to expand... with the leek persisting, I have flushed out all of the trans-x mixed fluid with fresh dot4. Time to fix it the right way, luckily the days are short and the air is cold, good time to be in the garage. |

The oberon unit is in my opinion the far superior of the two choices |
