I did a search and didnt see anything. Just wondering if there is a relay I could get at an auto store as the stealership doesnt have any in stock and I am desperate to ride in the rain today. |

Are you talking about the relay in the wiring harniess upgrade? if so i believe it is used as a start relay on some HD's and also possibly the blast. |

Yes that relay. Surely there is a cross that A guy could just go to autoparts store and pick up? No? |

Look for a Fiamm "Freeway Blaster" horn relay at your local auto parts store. It's a 12VDC 20/30A SPDT typical Bosch style. |

You can find those relays in auto parts stores: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Sante ch-5-pin-12-Volts-universal-SPDT-relay-with-bracke t/_/N-2659?itemIdentifier=946045_0_0_ But they are much cheaper on ebay, for example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Automotive-30-40-Amp-Relay -12-Volt-5-Pin-SPDT-Boat-Car-Alarm-Includes-One-Re lay-/170912451130?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item27cb 2d0a3a&vxp=mtr |

Has anyone found a replacement relay that is more reliable than these that have been listed? |

I found that the average $5.00 30A foglight relay at the local auto parts store can be used but only lasts approx 300-500 miles and much less if you ride continuously. I tried a higher amp 40/50A relay for an International truck (IH part# 3607384C1) because i work for an IH dealer and it was convenient. It got so hot that it melted the relay, the plastic harness housing, and a make-shift toolkit that i had stuffed under the seat. Im lucky that we stopped for lunch and i smelled the smoldering charred plastic. It sure would've sucked if my bike caught fire while i was on vacation! I got sick of the mickey mouse harness recall and changing relays so finally broke down and installed the EBR rotor modification. The bike is stored for winter now so i'll find out next year if it performs as advertised. Just my experience and .02 worth, good luck! |
