I took off my GPR Stabilizer and now I am getting a front end noise while compressing the front suspension. I did the steps stated in the 09 1125R Manual to the T. Just to be sure I loosened everything and re-tightened the steering stem cap to the max torque on a second try. The steering is about 4lbs of pull. I wonder if there should be some noise present while compressing the front end? Could there be something I am missing? Anyone else gone through this problem? Thanks guys! |

Have the same noise. Apparently it's very common in the 1125r platform. |

Sprintst The noise sounds the same with or without the brakes on. I haven't really eliminated all cables. Maybe that will be my next step. I will start by un-bolting the front brake cable strap. |

I was told it's a floating disk in the forks themselves. All 1125's I have ridden have the same noise. |

Yup! sounds like you've got loose head bearings but they aren't. All 3 of mine make the same noise. |

I've known the "klunk/klick" to be one of two things: 1. Steering head bearings loose. Torquing them to spec with a loose top triple clamp is the usual solution, though if they have been too loose for too long, they may need to be replaced. 2. Bushing in the forks. My bikes don't do this, but I have better quality (not stock) internals in them. You may just need to have the forks serviced, especially if the bike has some miles and seasons on it. An active rider will generally service the suspension annually, so you may be due, anyway. Any good suspension shop can do #2, even a dirt bike race shop. Our forks use the same seals as a CR250 if I recall correctly. A race shop will know. Money well spent, IMHO. |

Jdugger If I were to add in the extra step with the top triple tree, what would the complete order of tighten everything back to speck? |
