I've had my '09 1125 for about three months. The bike has 12K on it and the previous owner had stator and clutch done under warranty. The bike was running great until the stator died. I'm not too upset about that although I'm surprised the problem wasn't solved by Harley. I can replace it and I will likely get the Buell rotor work done and put in the big voltage regulator. What freaks me out in reading these posts is the number of people who have gone through multiple engines and such. I have a BMW I've put 65K on and a Cagiva with 35K. I love riding my Buell and I'd like to think that if I take care of it I would be able to ride it for a long time also. So, if anyone has some good news about their bike I'd like to hear it. Thanks, Ray |

No one ever posts about business as usual, you know? I've had my bike since '08. A few teething issues in the first 1100 miles, but has been reliable as a top ever since. Multiple track days and lots and lots of commuting. Love it. Track days have hi-lighted how finicky the front brakes can be though. Low sided the thing twice at the track as well and I am pleased at the engineering that went into making the bike relatively crash worthy. |

Uh, 35k miles on my 08, haven't had any real issues other than the stock orange rear wheel bearing seals sucking in a ton of water recently (and that was related to moving to somewhere moist - I put more rain miles on in the first 2 months in Seattle than I did in the rest of the bike's life). Running fine, great bike. |

Well, its not 65000 miles but I have an 08R with 16500 on it and really the only issues I have had are the recall issues and the clutch actuator that I replaced with the EBR actuator. Plus, for whatever reason, I go through a battery every 2 years or so. Other than this small stuff, she has been tip top. And, after the extras that I have put on, she is exactly the bike I want! |

I have over 25k on my '08 R. After the recall work was done the bike has been 100% reliable. Then again, the '08's did NOT have any Stator overheating issues. Erik Buell Racing solved the stator issue and sells the upgraded parts. |

Just rolled over 19,000 today, except for a few stators going bad the only problem has been a bad ignition switch, she is running strong, looking forward to the next 19,000 miles. Great bike love it!! |

I have 35400 miles on my 1125R, only issues have been clutch "weep," 2 dead stators, 1 at 8500 miles, and the other at 19000, belt broke around 12500 miles, but that is a wear item and the needle tach slipped about 1200 miles ago. I did have a problem about a month ago when there was a wreck and I had to do a lot of sitting and idling and the battery light came on, when I left back from where I was headed I had to get the bike jumped so I could get home. Its been a good bike though. |

I rode today. I passed a sea of harleys and ducs that began to look like guard rails. 3rd gear (on the CR) brings me from 40 to 90. The pull, the sound, the quick turn in. Ok my XB was rock solid and I worry more about the volts and temp on the CR. It is your job to break it and fix it. The taming of the shrew. Like the old phrase, bore it until you hit water then back off. Beat it until it blows up, then rebuild it. The good news, the time spent figuring it out builds connections in your brain and hold the oldtimers at bay. embrace it! |

10.5 K '08 Clutch actuator and thermostat warranty 1 drive belt caught early. the cush drive is rattly, and the rotor nut may need a reset. Starts every time, runs well. no serious issues to date |

i believe there is someone on here that has close to 100k miles on their R..says alot right there lol I don't know if he posts here or not, but I do know of at least 1 08 1125R that broke the 100k mile mark a while back. It was ridden as a daily commuter for a ~120-130 mile round trip commute by a damned hardcore rider. |

The guy up in the Seattle area had the most miles on a single machine to my knowledge. I have a chassis up over 45,000 at this point, with the last 20-25k or so all track miles. Basically on the the swing arm and frame is original at this point, and even both of those have had bearing swaps... |

I'm the guy in the Seattle area. Here's the last shot of my odo: My bike's been down for almost 1.5 years (for shame, I know) due to various factors NOT related to its reliability, mostly my finances. Anyway, I hope to have it back up and running in a week or so. If I hadn't had this downtime, I have no doubt it would have over 85,000 miles by now. PM me if you have any questions. |

Smoke4, can you tell me what you mean by finicky brakes? I'm doing my 2nd track day soon and I'd like to know what you mean. What was the cause of those low sides? |

You have nothing to worry about with the brakes on your 2nd track day. When you start thinking about the expert group, come back and ask. I'll take you through the upgrades you will want/need. For now, just make sure you have relatively new brake pads, and high quality, fresh fluid in the system. Motul RBF600 is an inexpensive, quality choice. The OEM brake set up has some significant issues for experienced track day and race riders. In my opinion, they have been solved for all but the highest levels of professional riders, and are frankly probably working well enough even at that level, but I don't have good data above club-level experts. |

Sounds good. Thanks for your post Jdugger. Actually, this will be my 2nd track day on the 1125. I did a few on my X1 before that. But the point remains that I'm no expert, more like intermediate. I really liked the stock brakes at the track. At least it was a nice step up from my X1. There was no fade and trail braking was smooth. But my rotor looks like a rainbow now. |
