i've just installed the the ebr triple clamp with the vortex clips. a damn headache. if you wanna install all the controls (especially left side with the indicators) with the original clutch master cylinder and the right side with the brake master cylinder, forget the the vortex clip-ons. the mc's won't fit over the clip-clamp. you need to buy other brake and clutch masters, radial pumps.

with the race setup and the vortex, i've just switched sides of the vortex clips (the bolts of the clip-clamps are bottomside, if they are topside, the mc's won't slip a mm over them), so we could fit the original mc's over. a damn headache. ebr should tell the people, that the original mc's won't fit with the vortex clips.

what a headache.

other clips: lsl (germany) makes nice ones, but you have to watch the clip-clamps

Like CB said, you will need new master cylinders. A set of Nissin Daytona's work pretty well.

Thanks for the info. Looks like my plan for installing the factory components with the vortex needs to be re-thought. The parts list just got bigger!

Great thread - on my list to do soon. I also wish EBR had mentioned compatibility w/ the vortex (what i ordered).

Do the woodcraft work without new clutch? I was hoping to do one side at a time (RCS19 now - RCS16 later). Now it looks like i may just wait until i have both before i swap. That's ok too, but you know what it's like to have shiny bits waiting to install...

Jdugger - i like the nut you used instead of the stock at steering stem! where did you get that? Looks beefy and outside dimensions for socket?

also - how did you both integrate in the microswitch on the Brembo? (if you kept brakes and not track only)

thanks!!

I'm going through a similar exercise myself. Want to pull the bars in closer to the fork CL and raise them. Helibar made an upper for the XB that did this, but:
1. it doesn't have the same center to center spacing and
2. they no longer make it. Contacted them - no intention to either. Their 54mm for the SS1000R they don't recommend.
Apex makes some nice adjustables, but the post fouls the outer curve of the EBR triple.
Woodcraft only goes to 53mm in a riser version and suggested Helibar.
So, still looking.

As far as the nut, a 36mm works. Betting it's really 1-7/16, but don't have that socket size.
