Can you run without an oil cooler and/or bypass???? Guys got a real problem,my original late 08 possibly 09 motor has died due to damage caused by a certain drag racing clutch. No worries I thought I've got 2 ex development motors bought from EBR last winter, just whip the top end off one check it all out, back together and then quick engine swap, ready to race next weekend. All done, ready to fill with oil...whoops better fit the oil hose-I run a cooler bypass- and guess what??? my fittings are too f*****g small. Case holes are m16 x1.5,I can plug them no prob,BUT???? I've fired a mail off to Michael at EBR but does anyone know what happens if I don't run the hose? I have a gauge fitting installed already so could check that the pressure doesn't go through the roof, but wondering if anyone knows for sure.???? also what size are the original hose fittings, measure as 0.55 inch x 18pitch,but that's what? 11/20ths? 9/16th? too used to metric now..lol. thanks. |

Are you making passes or road course or just want to street ride? If your making passes I think you will be ok but change the oil at the end of the day. Road course no way Street I wouldn't heat soak will kill ya! Prolonged running |

Yes Brum drag race only, always change the oil every weekend...even more important now I've got a slider clutch fitted,if I get settings wrong I end up with clutch plates in the oil..lol I come from Brum. sunny birmingham. |
