Lol I've never raced anybody on my 1125r, but I have on my sportster that's got more torque than horsepower and it's hilarious. I don't really have to worry about wheelies because I only weigh 140 pounds so I pretty much grab everybody off the line. I'm a big fan of torque too lol |

Any liter bike would kill an 1125R... no offense. the dude probably couldnt ride despite the burn outs |

In stoplight racing that's actually a patently false statement. No offense. Wheelbase and launch control, torque rules! An I4 liter bike will get you in MPH at the dragstrip, but messing around at stoplights, an 1125 is a damn good match for a lot of bikes. Seeing as i actually dragrace mine and have lined up with all sorts. |

Did that once getting onto the freeway against a L cbr was maybe a wheel or two ahead till about 125ish then it was nothing but his tail light.... Was fun. |

i know the liter bikes got the top end but i dont really want to go that fast, example that gsxr guy said his top was 181, while the 1125r dyno test said 175, either way im not going that fast i want the power where its usable and not too illegal |

For me it's all about 0-60. Going any faster than that is just asking for a ticket or a reckless driving charge, but if you're doing 0-60 in a 45-50mph zone you're pretty safe |

Stealth, they can still get you for "exhibition of speed" so don't race any moto-cops! Don't ask me how I know. |

I gotcha duph lol, I've heard of that before like "unlawful acceleration" and whatnot. I mean I never do it in front of cops anyways, but still if they are present or become present they aren't going to see you braking down from 100mph lol. I call my bike the Stealth bobber because my sportster is ridiculously quiet with 883 slip ons, so it's hard for the police to hear my hooliganism from any distance. Literally if I'm rolling down the street you won't even hear me around the corner lol |

torque and gearing (which multiples torque) rule the stoplight action, all else being equal. Lots of car experience but not bikes. Speaking of gearing is there anything showing the CR besting the R at 60 foot, 1/8 or 1/4 due to the gearing? |

A friend and I drove up to buy our Buells together, me the CR and him the R. Over the next year and a half we lived close enough to go riding together, the CR had the edge on acceleration no matter if I was driving his bike or mine. Not much of a difference though. |

I've got a Geezer Glide Harley Electra Glide with a 120" engine that I spank a group of rice rockets with one night. I'd just got the bike sorted out and was enjoying a little Sat nite ride when a group of 4 rice rockets went blasting by me on the highway. I caught up to 'em sitting at the one red light about a 1/4 mile down the road. They were all sitting together in the right lane and I pulled up in the left lane and they almost immediately started "picking" on me, revving their engines and lookin over at me, etc. I didn't respond, I kinda just shrugged my shoulders like "yeah, right!" I guess it really strokes some people's egos to pick on bagger Harleys..... When the light turned green we all took off like normal and about when I would normally shift into second, I whacked the throttle open and it sounded like I kicked a nest of hornets over or something. I could hear these guys winding their bikes out like crazy over the roar of my big inch pushrod v-twin torque monster. I could see headlights bobbing in my rear view mirror as they were trying to catch me but my Black Bitch is pretty quick to 100 or so where I got out of it, especially in a street situation like that. Little did they know or realize the bike I was sitting on had well over twice the torque and horsepower of a typical bagger. They were about to come around me when I got out of it but it was too late at that point. It was over and they'd had the embarrassment of watching my tail light to 100 or so. I've ridden just about everything except Mopeds and I love all bikes but these guys were just asking for it that night ! I suckered 'em bad, I wouldn't have stood a chance had they known what I had in mind. I got 'em into a street dual where the conditions would favor that instantaneous torque of a big inch dinosaur over their high revving, high horsepower engines that need to be turning big rpm to produce significant power. I'd loved to have seen their faces as they were trying to catch me that night ! I've ridden and owned everything from crazy fast 4 cylinder Kawasaki liter bikes to 90cc 2-stroke buzzsaws and I'll take the usable "street torque" of our Buells any day over anything else made right now. The grin factor is much higher for me when I have usable power throughout the rpm band and not just the right side of the tach.... |

Any liter bike would kill a 1125R!? thats false I've seen piped r1's. I believe 03 hit 130 rwhp on a dyno right after mine did 137! and I have much more torque and less weight! |

I raced a CBR1000RR on my 08R from a light and easily beat it to the 100mph mark before it screamed past me. Though, I was already slowing down at that point I knew he would have killed me from that point on if I had continued to wack the throttle. I didn't have the luxury of twisties or corners to make my efforts more competitive and since he was besting my HP by 20+ I figured the 0-100MPH was a good parameter to stay within. Good times though! |

I took a sportbike race school last year in PA and at the end of the day we did three mock starts with between 30 and 40 bikes and starting on the last row I was amazed at how many bikes I passed before turn one.All but 6 or 8.I am not that great a rider even .At speed I could hold off GSXR 750s and a few liter bikes whose riders dropped anchor before I did. |
