There's a plug you remove on the bottom of the motor just in front of the screen cover. Cover is about 4-5 inches around, I think it has 5 screws... Pull the plug Insert the locker and slooowly rotate the motor and feel for the notch with the locker. Pretty sure I remember there are 2 notches, one for each cylinder's TDC. Once you find the notch, screw in the locker. snug not tight. <edit> Try to turn the motor CW-CCW to make sure you're IN the notch and not hitting the front or back of the balancer lobe!!! Doesn't matter which notch if you're doing the rotor. Good luck Zack <edit> A-Ha, Scooter's pix didn't show when I opened the thread, all I saw was "Hole 3"..... This should be italic, boldfaced, underlined, and maybe even in a blinking font. You do NOT want to break off that tip in there. |

Wrench or socket on the end of the crankshaft. |

Baf is right. Access the crank by removing the left-side puck - it's held on by an o-ring, just pry it off. After you pull the puck, use 2 small flat-blade screwdrivers in the notch on the aluminum plug and pop it out - it's also held in place with an o-ring. <edit>You will lose a couple tablespoons of oil, have a tray below. Then you have access to the crank nut. Use the proper metric socket( I forget the size) on a breaker bar to turn the motor. Enjoy the 600 bucks you just saved.
