Buy another one or have your dead one rewound. |

Is there an ebr spec rotor? Or is it still the old hd one people buy? |

Yes, it's on EBR's site. Costs $175 (+ $250 core charge), and it's for 09+ stators. |

to clarify -- the EBR rotor is actually an exchange service -- you take off your rotor and send it to EBR, they send one back to you that's had a hole cut into it to squirt oil on the stator to cool it. right now the only way to buy new stators is to buy them from a HD dealer. it is possible to have a dead stator rewound. it's tedious work to DIY and the custom rewinders here in the states have some dissatisfied customers. |

RicksMotorsportElectrics.com rewound my stator. he special ordered me some 250 degree wire. oem spec is only 200 degree.so far I have 3500 miles on it ,it has made it 500 miles further than stock. I also switched to A better oil, I wanted to get the the overall temp down in the motor , change the coolant to engine ice . I live in texas and on A 98degree day in traffic the bike is only getting to 182, i think that is helping the stator more than anything . |

The EBR rotor is sent to you immediately. When you order it online, they charge you $175 for the machining plus a $250 core charge. After you swap rotors out, you send your old one back to them, and they refund you the $250. |

Andros, Good to ask for the recap because it is very confusing at first. I think I'd add to your general question, one more piece to it: If my stator is dead, and I buy a new one and also get the EBR rotor mod; should I do anything to my relay? Or if it didn't fail with the stator, should I assume it's fine? |

Some folks are recommending changing the relay regularly. Personally, I haven't had any issues I can attribute to the relay on my bike. You can check voltage drop across the relay once you get the bike up and running again to determine if it's making good contact internally or not, but other than that, I'd just recommend keeping an eye on it and not fixing what "isn't broken." Whether or not to completely disconnect the upgrade harness (whether in tandem with just the EBR rotor, or also combined with a different regulator) is a separate debate, with a couple different schools of thoughts on that. |

Ya, I was going to try to stay away from the harness upgrade debate. I don't have an opinion yet there. But when a relay fails, it's doesn't do anything to hurt your new $650 stator does it? Also, what part number and from where to purchase, is everyone using, just to have one on hand? |

I fitted the EBR rotor and stator some time ago to my 09 1125R but also removed the charging harness relay, so far so good. |

Dirty I did the same thing, now that it's 90degrees and 90%humidity here I'm seein some major swings in charging numbers. 12.7-13.8 Are you seeing he same numbers? |

Eric, I keep an eye on CT and Vbatt when I ride, and I write the high/low ranges down in a log book every day. I've never seen 12.x. This week we had temps of 95*F ambient, and my charging voltage never dropped below 14.0 when riding for 3 hours, except for one occurrence of 13.9 at idle at a stoplight with the brights on when the CT went up to 220*F. If I had seen 12.7 I'd be looking for a problem. |

Ok! So ebr rotor must be ordered! Whats the most reliable (not cheapest) stator you can get? |

I don't know of anyone who sells 1125-compatible stators. That said, I think you have 3 options: 1. rotax stator 2. have your stator rewound 3. rewind your own stator Personally, I like option 1. YMMV. |

For what it's worth, EBR isn't offering one on their site. |

So i will get a new EBR rotor and HD stator. Fine, how about the voltage regulator, lets say i would like to replace it since i dont trust it. What would i use then? |

did you mention if your bike has the harness or not? i can't remember. if you know that your stator is bad then replace your stator, get the oiling rotor, and see how the bike works after the install. i can not recommend blindly hanging new expensive parts like regulators just because you've been biased against trusting them by reading this forum. take measurements and determine if it is good or bad. there's not much point in replacing a perfectly good part with another one just like it. some people believe that "series" regulators are an upgrade compared to the stock regulator plus harness, which also acts as a "series" regulator according to the definitions used on this forum. there's a lengthy debate about that in another thread. if your objective is to fix a broken bike, then it doesn't make much sense to replace parts that aren't broken. OTOH, if you just want to throw money at "upgrading" your bike, that is another situation entirely. |

I'm in the same situation- my stator is fried. 18/11/7 volts. I have the harness upgrade. I guess I need a new stator (deciding on stock, or one of the rewinders), and the EBR fix for the rotor. I'm on the fence about the voltage regulator, but Hildstrom's page seems compelling about upgrading. |

I'm in a similar position, my bike has almost 10k miles on it and I just had my first problem. The last couple days the Vbatt was dropping, it's normally 12.7-13.5 but has been dropping to the 11s then coming back up. Yesterday it just kept dropping until even my gauge cluster stopped functioning. I'm out of warranty and I'm not an electrical guy. Should I take it to an HD shop and have them look at it, then fix it myself? Have them fix it? With EBR parts or HD? Cost is actually a concern for me as we are a couple weeks from closing on a new house and all my money is tied up in that. |

Xbniner ~ I looked at your profile what year 1125? is it an 08 or 09? is the harness on or off? I have 15K on warranty stator with harness disconnect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBYEYGJfyBw&feature =youtu.be According to timebandit I need to hook it up and buy a new relay, oh well. I haven't seen a battery light since, so there is no looking back for me. |
