A little background, I have 3 bikes Uly, old Vulcan 1500 in great condition, and a Zuk SV650S. The first 2 are my bikes and the SV is my 20 y.o. son's bike, well, wait a minute, I bought it, insure it, wash it and maintain it, OK they're ALL my bikes. I would like to get down to 2 bikes to simplify storage/ maintenance and my life in general. I cherish owning a Buell and the Vulcan is for 2-up with wife. I want to let the SV go and the kid, 6'3" is somewhat cramped on it anyways although he doesn't really admit it because riding a sportbike is cool. He doesn't like riding the Uly, says it's too tall and not his "style". My thought is selling the SV & the Ulysses and picking up an upright-bar low-mile 1125CR not too far away on C.L. He gets a sportbike (and then some!) and I get to keep being a Buell owner. I'm 6-1 and enjoy the legroom of the Uly, how cramped is the seating/ergos on the CR as I've driven an R but not a CR. |

I'm a bit shy of 5-11 (wasn't 20 years ago, wtf) and on my high-bar/low-peg/thick seat (Saddleman) CR it's about perfect. 6foot plus might feel a bit smallish but do-able I'd guess. Go to the Harley shop and see if they have apes and hiway pegs! Funny to ask them anyway. (Message edited by duphuckincati on June 06, 2012) |

Have both Uly and CR (like others here) - - significantly different riding positions, and I'm not sure how guys over 6' can comfortably ride the 1125s, but to each his own. Here's a useful link: http://cycle-ergo.com/. Type in CR and then Uly to get the ergos for each. Then tell your son to buy his own damn motorcycle. . . |

I don't have a CR but I do have an R and I am 6ft even. It fits me just about perfect so, you may want to get some lowered pegs. |

I'm 6'5" with a 36" inseam I survive okay on the 1125R. Would I like more legroom? Of course, but that doesn't stop me from putting 8+ hour days on it okay, seat is slightly lower on the CR (Message edited by sprintst on June 07, 2012) |

I'm 6'4", 34" inseam, legs are half titanium from a wreck in '08. I'm not the most flexible person out there That said, I have a Uly with 1" bar risers and tall seat and it's my "sport-utility-bike". I also have a clubman-CR with touring seat and Uly pegs, and have done 900 mile days on it repeatedly with no issues other than looking at the GPS on the BRP, realizing it's 4pm and I work tomorrow back in Maryland...and I'm right outside Roanoke. Whoops, heheh...

He will fit on an 1125 MUCH better than the SV, Suzuki put that tank flare in exactly the wrong place for a long legged guy. I think you would regret getting rid of the Uly though... |

I have a Uly, love it. Might want to reconsider keeping it. I had an SV650 but sold it when I got the CR. Wish I would not have sold the SV but the wife was on me back then about too many bikes. I put the high bars on the CR and dropped the pegs. Great bike and a much better ride than the SV. Love the CR too. Keep them all, buy more. Leave them on tenders and add Stabil to the ones you don't feel like riding for a while. Storage can be a problem but put them in chocks so you can squeeze them closer together. Use them as an excuse to build your new garage. |

+1 to Whistler and Rkc00 I have both as well.... the Uly will not go anywhere, actually considering getting anther Uly as back up for the future... the ease of maintenance make other brands a harder choice..... that being said... they are similar bikes as the the word BUELL is on both..... stock vs stock...riding position is night and day.... CR is tight and at 6'1" legs can get antsy but not uncomfortable for me compared to the XR i rode once..... power from two different engines and types of engines shouldn't be compared.... NOW.... put the high bar kit on, touring seat, and ULY pegs and the CR changes a good bit .... the leg room becomes extremely similar to the ULY, not the same and the overall comfort jumps.... lacking wind protecting and complete upright ride position as well as luggage and passage comfort options also are missing.... but the CR with modifications like Froggy's .... 900 miles is at least now a consideration.... stock..... NOPE...i'm not 19 and rubbery anymore the more the merrier... even the wife agrees ... but she is awesome!!! Good Luck- Cheers- pete |

Check with Geico on your insurance. I was going to add my R to my auto policy with Progressive until they quote me a rate that was $1,000 more than the bike stand alone with Geico. |
