I am running my R with a buddy of mine on his SV650 in the intermediate group this Saturday and was curious to see if anyone else was going to be there? |

...a short story - back in my youth - I was asked to ride with a team in the 24 hours of Nelson - I was on a Yamaha two stroke (RD250) - most of the fast guys and the winners were on big bore Beemers...at night we experienced a "head shake" with the steering - especially on the back straight - we thought we thru a weight or had a flat - furious activity in our pits ensued - what was the problem???? - one of the "old timers" that ran the race for a couple of years came over to calm us down - it was "toads" - the little critters were crossing the track (to their demise) and as were ran them over the steering would twitch! here's a picture of a typical pit stop of my good friend's (Frank - the big guy in front holding the bike up) Team # 9...Frank and I worked at Rick Case back in the day - Frank was so successful in finishing many times at an overall of 9th place in the 24 hr race - (on the mid sized Honda (a 550 punched out with Wiseco Pistons) that he was permanently rewarded with that number nine. have fun at track day - and watch out for the toads!

Chris, It was great meeting you. I hope you had a good time and we were of some help. Sorry to hear that your buddy crashed out, at least that was the unofficial word. Hope you join us again. |

John, I appreciate all of your instruction on the track. We had a terrific time until Dale got pushed wide in turn 1. He was able to keep it upright in the grass until he got into the ruts and then he started to tumble. His SV650 is pretty beat up on the right side though mostly cosmetic. His collar bone didn't fare as well, and they may be putting a plate in him to get it healed right but he doesn't know yet. My R was again outstanding, and an absolute pleasure to ride. I didn't have any real close calls but the slipper clutch saved me on one occasion when I grabbed second instead of third into turn one. And dragging my right foot peg in turn 13 was a bit of a wake up call and a reminder to get off the bike more, just like you kept telling me! My Corsa Rosso's got good and hot and never let me down. Now if I can only convince my wife that I need to go back again this season! Chris |

I made it to nelson ledges friday for fasttrax. Fun track to ride on, not much time to blink, and then the bridge is by! I had some problems in turn 4/5 didnt trust the patch grip, but then I was passed in that corner, and that was the last time..lol I hit my foot a couple of times also in the last turn..off the bike..got to work on loose foot! 1125rcya what group do you run in? What track day organization were you running with the day you were passed in the corner? (Message edited by kruizen on June 11, 2012) |

It was an intermediate group..passing in corners were aloud. I was only passed once in the corner I was passing people as.well lol..but being passed in that corner helped me realize that there was nothing wrong with the grip! The patch reminded me of black tar which I totaled a bike on..it was more fear than anything. |
