Dennis, how would you describe your riding style? And did the belt break or was there some other symptoms that you decided to change it? |

Never wore out a belt. Traded in my 2000 M2 Cyclone with 36,000 miles. Traded in my 2006 XB12Ss with 26,000 miles and traded in my 2009 1125R with 19,000 miles... all on the original belt. All three bikes did at least two track days and were used for daily commuting and aggressive weekend riding. |

18K on my first 08XT belt. Replaced it just to have a stretched spare on hand. 37K, I found a piece of metal embedded in the 2nd belt and there was a missing tooth adjacent to the metal. I replaced that one to be safe. Never had one break (knock on wood) |

Broke cyclone belt at 20,000 mi, broke 1125r belt at 14,000 mi. I ride fairly hard at times and drag race from time to time. Both belts looked in pretty good shape other han a clean break when they went. |

Mine broke at 22k miles, I ride rain or shine commuting, more regular miles than aggressive. I was accelerating hard when it broke though. |

I must be unlucky - I had to replace the belts on both of my 1125s (they both snapped), and neither bike had reached the 8,000 mile mark ... |

I got around 25k miles out of my first belt. I, like Pyro, ride rain or shine commuting, but was accelerating hard when it broke. Edit: Factory belt guards have always been in place. (Message edited by daggar on June 13, 2012) |

Please edit your posts to state if you still have the factory guards in place, after market guards, or no guards. It's interesting data. FWIW my '08 1125R had 12,500 and the belt was fine when I totaled her} (Message edited by sprintst on June 12, 2012) (Message edited by sprintst on June 12, 2012) |

I do not baby my bikes 15,607 miles on 1125R On my old S3T 55,000 the belt was still good but the motor blueup. 3 belts on the Uly 40,000 was still going when I sold it. Every one of the belts broke I was lucky my farest from home was 10 miles. (Message edited by dennis c on June 12, 2012) |

As of tonight just a little over 17k. Snapped on the upshift from 1 to 2. Luckily I ordered another one when I ordered the new speed sensor, so it's on the way. |

My bike just snapped about 1.5 hours (50ish miles) from home last night. Both guards up, looked fine on my preinspection ride. Worst part was I went home to get my buddies truck and the PD towed it and said I abandoned it!... $255 later got it out of impound. Bike has about 25K miles on it. I ride agressive and do track days. Mostly 2up even the track days with STT. Snapped under hard acceleration (Message edited by CraigG on September 26, 2012) |
