I tore the plastics off my bike last night to investigate my purchase a little. I tried to download the service manual from the top of the page but I gues my PC is too old. It has been denioded, and has the K&N filter and it appears to have a stock ECM. I took a peek around and it appears that the valve covers have been off because the gaskets look pretty new and clean. I looked down the TBs and it's REALLY clean in there. More so than I expected on a bike with 24K on it.No oil on the vent filter either. No leaks other than brake fluid weeping from the clutch cover. Coolant looks nice and clean. I did how ever find this plug dangling down from the left side. Is this the data link plug for the ECM? |

Thank you. I suspected thats what it was. Unfortunatly that leads me to more questions as to why the bike doesnt run as nice as it should. |

Get a race ECM, it will clean up the running issues nicely. |

Be sure to get an owners manual and a service manual, you won't regret it. There are two search options at the top of the web page, USE the GOOGLE search at the left, the other is not so good. |

Thanks guys, I think Ive found an EBR ECM for the Jardine exhaust at a really reasonable price. I wouldnt think by looking at the pictures I can find there is much difference between the 2 systems. Even if I have to send it in for the proper flash I will be money saved over buying a new one. |

From the sounds of it, you'd probably benefit from actually buying a hard copy of the manual. You can only go so far with the pdf, unless you're looking at covering your computer in oil. |

I found a manual for $40. I'm sure I'll need it to repair the other stuff on the list. |

You should buy all three of the service manuals. They are invaluable if you are going to be doing all your own work. |
