Hi Guys I have an 09 1125R with 3,500 miles on the clock - never been in the rain. I currently have an intermittant 'cough' throughout the rev range up to 6000rpm It manifests as a lurch / sudden drop in power, at idle causing a stall. it feels like brief fuel starvation? not like a missfire / back fire though I could be wrong? I have checked through historical & live data on the screen / nothing is out of spec vs the manual, though the fuel pressure / voltage is jumping about a bit? plugs changed, injectors sent for clean & check, came back all clear, the only thing I have found was a small rubber diaghpram lodged in the outlet of the fuel pump body (think its out of the filter)? Its not the ignition switch wiring as it will run on the stand for 30 sec or so, before stalling (can see idle air valve position change to try to catch the stall)Voltage is good at around 14v (have also checked with charger connected)all plugs / earths checked getting desperate now any ideas guys? your help would be appreciated Got fresh fuel in & injector cleaner prior to sending the injectors away, tried the tank releif trick - no joy! also had all plugs / connections off incl the ECU - might be mileage in swapping out the fuel pump as I suspect the rubber diaghpram is possibly something to do with a none return valve on the pump?? though would have had to get through what looks like a small metal fuel filter fitted to the exit of the pump (has a direction arrow on / cant see through when removed? Has anyone had experience with the pump / got a breakdown drawing? Macca (Message edited by Macca uk on May 24, 2012) |

"I have found was a small rubber diaphram lodged in the outlet of the fuel pump body (think its out of the filter)?" = not good look for a post from avalaugh about injectors/fuel filters he's on your side of the pond bad gas?( H20 in the gas) |

Does this happen every time you start the bike.. And clears out after riding for 5 minutes? |

Get ecmspy on it. A couple of minutes of live data should identify the problem. or run it down to me in birmingham and I'll hook it up. Does sound a bit like a fuel pressure issue. |

Battery voltage jumping around? Start there. Seriously these bikes are extremely sensitive to low voltage. |

I could be wrong but doesnt the 1125 have a variable pressure system? Either way it does have a fuel pressure sensor and low pressure should give a fault. |

Guys I E mailed EBR with the fault & diagnosis to date, they recommended that I strip out the connector on the harness between the engine & ECU (tucked up in a really difficult spot behind the frame / radiator on the alternator side) I stripped & checked every pin & re set the females. All back together & fault resolved!!! If it goes again I will remove the plug, solder & heat shrink each connection. thanks for all of your input - hope this is able to help others as this was not an easy one to diagnose Mac |

Update After 2 long rides the fault is back! this time with a DTC PO339 (intermittant crank position error) Looks like I may be getting somewhere - just got to locate a good sensor & try again Mac |

Pretty sure the CKP is a Hall-effect sensor like the VSS. I don't know if it will work, but check the sensor for iron "fur". Any you find, clean off and try again. Z |

Ordered a complete harness incl CPK sensor from America, parked up until it arrives (think it will go in without rotating the engine)? THe current sensor has no iron fur on it at the moment but valid check Zac4Mac Bike stripped as I cant bring myself to ride it - nearly had me off on a fast bend when it sneezed heavily last time out Thanks |
